I'm betting that the dealer is being straight with you. TYD doesn't update in real time of course, but more relevant is the fact that the dealership is notified directly by the port when cars are released and assigned to a truck so they can plan for arrival and dealer prep scheduling.
It does suck, but just for reference the 2021 911s were delayed at the ports awaiting EPA and CARB certification. Early arrivals waited from end of August until November 12 (EPA) and early December (CARB). Of course everyone had the same concern, but reports were that the paint showed no or...
Removing a badge is relatively straightforward - heat the area to soften/loosen the glue and then use some fishing line and slide it under the badge to remove it. Then a matter of removing the leftover glue, which will not harm the paint. If you're uncomfortable doing it yourself your detail...
Having owned several different models over the last 5-6 years I've watched and read an awful lot of reviews with very consistent conclusions on Porsche's conservative numbers. Motor Trend, Car and Driver, "Motoman," are a few that consistently report that. My previous 911 was a 991.2 Turbo S...
Curious to know if this is typical across Autonation dealerships. I know they have several Porsche dealerships and are looking to add more. Anyone have experience with any of them?
No - all are shipped to the US with the orange. Another nanny state thing. I swap them out whenever possible. Don't have the option for Cayennes and Panamera. Not sure about 718s.
For me it's much quicker (plus my sales mgr does me a favor and gets mine in right away.... I've bought a lot of cars from him!!). I only do the front end with the PPF (bumper hood, fenders, mirrors) so a little quicker - but even giving it a couple days to "cure" I will get the car within a...
Attached is a brand new VW export schedule - just released. Not posted on their website yet. I had written them a couple times in the past about not updating the website - so they put me on their mailing list. Passing along to those who may be interested.
No, we went and saw it before it had been through dealer prep. And the PPF installers who do cars for the dealership have an excellent reputation and do great work - I've had several done by them. So the dealer just adds it to the purchase agreement and I pay for it all together and it's done...
From the PWL Group at https://www.pwl.de/en. Scroll down to the shipping portal, choose the trade route and then the carrier (VW) and it will download. They have not been very good at keeping it up to date recently, but what is posted now is current. The dates are approximate - you can find...
According to the VW export schedule yours should be getting on the Mediterranean Highway, which is running a few days behind schedule. It is currently en route to Bremerhaven from your home town, and due in on August 11. If it stays on that schedule it should be to Emden very shortly after that.
It may be the same in the States in that vehicles shipped without TPMS were held at the port and installed there, rather than shipping to the dealerships and fixing locally. If the "defect" is considered a safety issue the vehicle cannot be released from the port until corrected. But the...
That's odd. Mine arrived at the dealership on Saturday. It has been prepped and returning to the dealership this evening or tomorrow morning from PPF. I'm taking delivery on Friday afternoon.
