I have a MY20 4S.. love it, I was in the market for a discounted MY24. however this battery recall has me reviewing my options moving forward… the plan so far seems pretty crappy, and there doesn’t seem to be certainty on any of it other than there is an issue.
Sorry :) my words fail me. I got that letter, it is the bit in the letter that says something to the effect “don’t worry we will notify you when your car is about to catch fire” which I am skeptical about.
I am still not clear how they will contact the customer, and am skeptical it will be done in a timely manner. There is a real struggle to get clear info. In some respects I want to wash my hands of it but it isn’t clear J1.2 is actually fixing it.
I don’t know .. I was trying to buy a J1.2 to order and no one has allocations, a couple would submit a demand order with no discounts.. which isn’t of interest to me.
It doesn’t feel like Porsche is trying to sell very hard in my small view of the world..
I view this as part of the strategy, my car is fine for now, so there is no claim. I wonder when the car is impacted to 80% if that will strengthen a claim. I am assuming we won’t get out from under this quick, I am just hoping my car doesn’t experience it soon.
I am at about 60k miles now on...
I wondered about this, but am not really clear what they fixed in 2025 model. Given how little communication there has been my cynical side worries the 2025 has same issue.
Don’t want to ruin it, but past 6 trips over this year have been solid, today was no exception!
Just enough time to get a coffee , use the bathroom and back on the road.
Wow! That is similar to my quote for when I bent the subframe in a parking trying to bounce my Taycan off 2 concrete rises…
Did they give you a itemized estimate?
I am going with P-Zeros as my dealer said the good years are harder to source and I wanted it done while recall work is getting done. Last year I didn’t have winters on and it was sketchy at times. Now that my kid uses the “family” car as if it is completely hers ? I wanted the Taycan to be...
It was about $7k for roof glass and windshield, they ended up having it in stock and it took 2 days.
No leaks, but they had to re do some inside clips about a month later.
I went through who my dealer recommended and State Farm covered it.
Yes. It is a bummer for me , I was looking forward to something between 4S and Turbo with Turbo look or something closer to J1 front end flow.. it isn’t that I don’t like it, but won’t be rushing out to buy it.
