    Right charging port impaired

This happened with my car since new. Details are here: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/charging-port-door-problem-fix-details.25192/

    The great J1.2 reliability survey

I had to have one of my charging port door modules replaced, because the door would stop halfway open or closed. Other than that, Android auto fails to connect about 20% of the time, and there have been other minor software annoyances, but nothing major.

    McMurtry Spéirling

Fascinating car. At the risk of adding yet another video link to this thread, there's some really interesting energy analysis in this one: .

    Part 1: MapEV Diag

I got a cable today and confirmed that the application works on my J1.2 Taycan also. It found 43 modules, and read all of them in about 10s. I was also able to clear faults, and the read ASG button appears to work too. Thank you for this app!

Big News! Electrify America is transitioning to Alpitronic HYC 400!

Supposedly the EA location at Waterford Commons in CT (USA) also has these new units, though according to Plugshare they just re-opened yesterday, and Plug&Charge is not yet supported. If anyone passes that way it might be an interesting side-trip.

    Part 1: MapEV Diag

Will the tool work at all with the J1.2 platform? As I understand it, the gateway has to be unlocked even to pull fault codes on the newer cars, due to SFD, and unlocking requires a PPN subscription and PIWIS 4. It's not clear to me whether it's possible for a regular owner to get a PPN...

April 2025: 1900-mile eastern USA road trip experiences

Thanks for writing this up! I'm heading down to MD in a few weeks from New Hampshire, and some of the charging stops you mentioned are on my plan, especially the Ionna one in Scranton. It's disappointing that it's not the full experience, canopy and utopian architecture included, but it'll still...

    Re Badge CT 4S measure

Apologies in advance for the state of my Taycan; she needs a bath. These might help. There isn't a convenient edge to measure from, so i lined up with the bottom of the taillight assembly. There's a little parallax error in the photos.

Charging Port Door Problem Fix Details

My MY25 Taycan started having intermittent problems with the charging port door on the passenger side 2 days after I brought it home from the dealer. This typically showed up as the door closing only halfway after unplugging the charging cable, then staying half open. I could cause it to recycle...

Thermal/Sound insulated windshield (Radar Detectors and Transponders)

I don't have the thermal glass option, but I did 3d print the OP's V1 mount (I used the version from the separate thread, where one of the triangular legs was deleted.) It works well for me, and I think that when mounted on the driver's (left) side it puts the V1's radar antenna behind the...

Taycan J1.2 Home charging kw change after update

I believe the big update for J1.2s did reduce the maximum A/C charging speed. My home charger is on a 60A breaker. I had my car in for the update around Dec. 17th, and the last 11KW charge I got at home was...Dec. 15th. I've been hoping in vain that it might be temperature related, but no, even...

New 2025 Taycan 4S - Few Newbie Questions

I prefer on. I've got the configurable button on the steering wheel set up to toggle between on and off, but I just leave it on, as it feels like engine braking, which I'm used to. I'd suggest trying out auto mode for a bit, as one of the other posters mentioned - it's nice in traffic. I think...

New 2025 Taycan 4S - Few Newbie Questions

I don't have individual either. I'm about 50-50 normal and sport mode. If I'm just on the highway I often leave it in normal; for twisty roads sport mode is more fun. There's a small difference in sound too, since sport mode will use the lower gear for the rear motor, and normal won't. It feels...

New 2025 Taycan 4S - Few Newbie Questions

It's worth mentioning too that in sport plus mode the car will be spending energy to warm up the HV battery for best performance. That will take a bite out of your range in a Canadian winter. Greetings from a fellow 4s owner!

Is your pre-climate via app still working as before?

Mine started working sometime this afternoon also. I finally got a response from Porsche support at 4pm (UTC-5) today and I checked it then, but it was still broken. Sometime between then and now the fix landed. The app version is unchanged (14.25.05-pcna+108990), so the fix was something...

Is your pre-climate via app still working as before?

This is just a guess, but the lack of sliders and switches on the apps that aren't working make me think that the app has become confused about how many zones the car has. But since deleting the app's storage didn't help, maybe the confusion is on the cloud side.

Is your pre-climate via app still working as before?

It's a little hidden, but open the charging function in the app and then click the gear icon in the upper right. You should see two options, "Automatic AC plug unlocking" and "Uninstall plug & charge certificate". (I seem to be unable to post a screenshot here today for some reason). I believe...

Is your pre-climate via app still working as before?

I have the exact same problem. I don't think it's just the pre-climate function that doesn't work, either: I also cannot set the option to auto-unlock the cable when charging completes from the charging function in the app. The car is connected to Porsche's cloud, though: location and lock...
