I would advise against Turo. You will open yourself up to a host of black swan liability events.
There are ways to do it right, set up an LLC, have the right insurance etc… but simply renting your personal car on Turo is a recipe for disaster.
No, I'm referring to the actual "racks" that attach to the bars/rails referenced above. I spec'd the roof rails in black aluminum, but to make use of them I need something to attach to it.
Has anyone added racks to their CT yet? I have all black trim and think black racks would go nice, and add to the sporty look.
I believe the OEM Porsche option only comes in silver, so I'm considering Thule wingbars..
I’m also not a fan of the 19’s, but to be honest, I don’t think any of the others (except the MachE) look all that great either. If I were doing a sedan, and didn’t want to spend the 9k on MachE’s — I’d probably go aftermarket.
Perhaps I was a bit harsh, I just view time as the most valuable thing we have. If you derive enjoyment from saving money, then who am I to say don't do it. That being said, I view programming the Taycan to charge at a different time of night differently than sitting on the side of the road for...
You bought a 6 figure car... what's the charging at home going to cost you per year... a few hundred dollars?
If you value your time at $5/hr sure... charge on the road. If you value your time at that you also probably shouldn't have bought a taycan.
Thank you for the details... I'm sorry that sounds like a really unfortunate situation.
If I were you I think I would try work in good faith with the dealer to work out a solution. If the car is recovered in good condition I would expect some compensation, especially if it ends up on insurance...
Great stuff, thanks! Wish I had known yesterday, I drive over the bridge that overlooks the port every morning... would have been kind of cool to see it.
1) Alternative is a manual pop open cover. No you don't need the power one, yes its cool.
2) No, skip it.
3) No, skip it.
4) I think Intelligent range can be added after... but I've really only heard bad things.
It seems the production line isn't quite shut down.. TYD had me going into production 7/26, and it just switched to "waiting for transport" as of 7/30. Now shows a 9/17 delivery date.
Mine is a CrossTurismo 4s, not sure if the regular taycan vs CT are on different lines.
