  1. Mind-blowing values/depreciation

And the moment I post, the car I was looking at has been sold. Bloody typical. Oh well, it was very expensive and full of options Is probably don't need. Good to hear that Taycan owners like the car. Still tempted; I'll see what else comes up in the coming months.
  2. Mind-blowing values/depreciation

Yeah, I really want the newer facelift model. Maybe I'll come back this time next year, see how things lie. EDIT: Oh, you're just down the road in Bristol. How are you getting on with the size of the car along our tiny roads in the SW?
  3. Mind-blowing values/depreciation

I've been looking at Taycans for a while. Would love to own one, but I can't get my head around the valuations. There's a car I really like, it's a nearly-new, well-specced JI.2 up for over £110K. But when you type the reg number into something like Webuyanycar or Auto Express, you get a...
  4. Newbie - possibly silly questions

Ha, yeah. I spend far too much time looking at cars for sale, mainly on the Porsche Finder. Surroundview and RAS are my number one boxes to tick when speccing them up. Thanks for the motivation!
  5. Newbie - possibly silly questions

Okay, well I'm doing another test drive on Friday (today's was cancelled) so I'll see how I get on. I did drive an iPace for a year which is actually wider, so maybe I'm worrying unduly. Would dearly love to drive something genuinely head-turning and curvaceous. All other Evs are just so dull.
  6. Newbie - possibly silly questions

I'm toying (gf would say obsessing) with the idea of buying a Taycan (probably 4S, J1.2). I have no issues with any aspect of the car apart from its size. @warnergb7 how are you getting on with it in London? All is foresee in future ownership is endlessly kerbed wheels, or scuffed lower trim.
  7. Stick or Twist? Do I get a replacment Taycan or look elsewhere...

Ooh, let me look into my crystal ball… I would hope both the new A6 and the J1.2 Taycan would be substantially better after five years of development and endless user feedback.
  8. Stick or Twist? Do I get a replacment Taycan or look elsewhere...

The new Audi A6 (or preferably S6) etron looks amazing in terms of tech and range. It also comes in fastback or estate versions, I’m hoping to test drive one very soon (right after another Taycan test drive tomorrow!).
  9. Stick or Twist? Do I get a replacment Taycan or look elsewhere...

I’ve owned two BMW i4 M50s (one ex-demo) over nearly three years and not had a single issue. Not. One. No recalls, no software bugs, no problems, They are rock solid, have had regular OTA updates (although only one added substantial features, they‘re mainly minor tweaks and QOL stuff). These...
  10. Potential 4S owner...

In the end, I just couldn’t go for the Taycan. I bought a new i4 M50 and am considering a second car. I do like the 911 Targas but may now wait for the electric 718.
  11. What would you do?

Okay, just to put a nail in this, I didn't buy the car. It's mainly due to the overall price plus the spectre of depreciation (losing £30-£40K is not to be shrugged off lightly), plus the size of the car versus increasingly crap and cramped UK roads and car parks. I may be overthinking it, but...
  12. Sad time to say goodbye to the forum

I know it's not the same buying experience, but there are tons of second hand, nearly-new or ex-demo models available. And the moment yours arrives, irrespective of spec, it's also immediately second hand. There might be a car out there that fits (pretty closely) your specification. I saw a car...
  13. What would you do?

I'ver always been fan of that creamy mid-grey. I ordered my last BMW 440i in Grigio Telesto (Lamborghini grey). Let's see what the car is like in person...
  14. What would you do?

Just about to secure the car with a deposit. It's Nardo grey and looks gorgeous in the photos they've sent me.
  15. What would you do?

No, this will be PX plus cash. Not a fan of PCP.
  16. What would you do?

All good points, thanks all. I'll chase up tomorrow and report back. The PtS colour is...
  17. What would you do?

Yeah, I'd ask to check the battery condition. They're similar cars but one is black with a black interior (and no contrast stitching), and the one with the higher mileage has a great PtS paint job I really like. Curses.
  18. What would you do?

Okay, thanks. Deep down I feel a newer car makes more sense. Also, mileage on EVs doesn't make that much difference I don't think (apart from general wear and tear). And in the great scheme of things, 8K isn't much anyway.
  19. What would you do?

No, one is MY22 (March, 2022), the other is MY23 (Nov 2022).
  20. What would you do?

I'm right on the edge of buying a nearly-new second hand GTS saloon. As a matter of interest, would you buy an older car (14 months) with fewer miles (4K) and slightly lower price tag – or a newer car (six months), with more miles (8K) and a slightly higher price tag. Specs are broadly similar...
