Called their local OPC and they did agree they were going to put the warranty in the indie dealer's name which would then transfer to me the private buyer. I won't name names as it sounded like this OPC was just very friendly with the indie who provided them a lot of servicing and repair biz...

It mentions if a car is sold to a dealer it then a warranty ends, but doesn't say anything about if a dealer themselves gets a warranty (as the only sale thereafter would be to a private buyer)
