  1. December deliveries of Taycans

My 2021 is due near end of Dec.
  2. I had my 4S for 3 weeks, and now I am replacing it!

Careful, soon you will justify driving a minivan and saying, "Well there's so much traffic, can't really get there faster anyway!"
  3. TURBO or TURBO S

Agree, but you do have to admit that Porsche is charging a massive premium for what you get. I'd expect a $120k performance sedan (basically what it costs for similar spec Tesla) to beat a $60k performance sedan off the line, but it doesn't. Maybe $20k difference to account for nicer interior...
  4. TURBO or TURBO S

My brother's Model S Performance. He's already talking about the "Plaid mode" he'll get next year... 4S would already lose to my M3P purchased for $60k.
  5. TURBO or TURBO S

I went with the S because I'm rich and I don't like to lose stoplight races.
  6. Tesla Model S Plaid Announcement

Agree with much of what was already said. The acceleration is impressive, but there wasn't much to get excited about. This tech isn't actually affecting products they have available now or within the next 6 months. Everyone knows at this point that if it's 1+years away, it's really an unknown if...
  7. Lucid Air launch today.

Getting too strong of a Buick Regal vibe from it. Not an inspiring exterior.
  8. Distance & Range Anxiety - How Far Have You Gone

Haha, lots of good info here. I honestly prefer driving fast and then just taking a longer break on the charging stations. It's nice to get out and stretch your legs for a while, take a mental break, etc...Might not be best for fuel economy but more enjoyable for me.
  9. Porsche Taycan Turbo vs Tesla Model 3 Performance Overall Comparison

The thing people aren't really understanding about 1-pedal driving is that it's not an on/off switch where braking starts immediately as you let off. Even in spirited driving, it's useful and good to have in many situations. With every car, when you press down on the "gas" pedal, it...
  10. Porsche Taycan Turbo vs Tesla Model 3 Performance Overall Comparison

Cool, thanks for your opinion too! I'd honestly like to hear you flesh it out more. What don't you like about 1-pedal driving? In the reviews I've seen, I thought this was pretty much a universally agreed-upon thing. Why touch the brake unless you have to? It's essentially less "work" to drive...
  11. Porsche Taycan Turbo vs Tesla Model 3 Performance Overall Comparison

I got to spend a weekend with the Taycan Turbo demo car from the local dealership while I wait for my build. My daily driver is a Tesla Model 3 Performance, and my other occasional driver is the Macan S. Before these cars, various BMWs, Audis, and the like. I have to say, the Taycan is an...
  12. Turbo Pickup in VA and 450 mile road trip to southwest NC - experience and feedback

Yeah those pros and cons are in line with what I'm guessing I'll feel after having the car for a weekend. Tesla is ahead on tech, but Porsche is ahead on driving dynamics.
  13. Porsche Taycan vs. 2020 Tesla Model S: Which luxury EV is best - Roadshow

Yep, it's not an opinion, it's fact: https://electrek.co/2020/02/18/tesla-model-3-leads-value-retention/ Also, in my area in Colorado there are currently 42 e-trons available within 25 miles of my location. There are a total of 3 model 3's available in a 200 mile radius.
  14. Red Seat Belts Retrofitted in Taycan

I also ordered red seatbelts. I consider it my most frivolous upgrade purchase since it's literally $500 to swap colors and likely costs Porsche nothing.
  15. Porsche Taycan vs. 2020 Tesla Model S: Which luxury EV is best - Roadshow

I'm not sure, but if I had to guess it's the same issue we've been facing in the USA: No stock available. They're sold out. It's the reason why the resale value on a Model 3 right now is the highest of any car available, simply because people want them and can't get them. You can walk on the lot...
  16. Taycan test drive

That's my line of thinking. If I was being budget-conscious, a well optioned 4S is enough. If I was being even mildly thrifty, the Turbo gets you 95% of the way there. I want 100% though.
  17. Porsche Taycan vs. 2020 Tesla Model S: Which luxury EV is best - Roadshow

Except the vast majority of their cars have only a handful of options. Normally they should just have stock available like other mass automakers do. No one is waiting on their Ford to hit a ship and get delivered. You and I custom-ordered a Porsche with probably 100+ options to choose from. It's...
  18. Porsche Taycan vs. 2020 Tesla Model S: Which luxury EV is best - Roadshow

Right. I guess for people who don't know how Tesla works, they deliver cars to Europe in weird waves. Basically when ships arrive. You can have months go by with zero listed sales, but it doesn't really mean anything about the demand. In the USA, they sold thousands of them in Q1.
