280? Miles? ? Mine sat around 205ish miles at 85% before the issues happened, and it’s currently sitting at 185 miles after the cell module replacement. 4S CT
ETA: the 20 miles makes a difference - many of the hill country drives out here in fast charging wasteland are around 230ish miles so...
For those that have had modules replaced that were experiencing a range drop, how long did it take for your range estimator to balance out? Ours is still showing significantly reduced range but hasn’t been but a week or so.
IIRC, and I’ll verify later, I was pretty sure I read somewhere that the new Taycan and Macan are on an Android platform now, so that it isn’t the same architecture as the outgoing Taycan. If so, while it wouldn’t necessarily require a HW change, it’s not as easy as pushing the updated code to...
I still maintain anyone new to Porsche buying a Taycan for half off is still likely unaware of the Porsche tax. Multiple issues documented here to even just the windshield or pano roof.
100% get one at a discount, but take the money you saved and expect it to get used over time too. ?
Yall with the tin foil hats. ? Payments are likely slow because there’s an influx and they probably assigned 2 people to take care of these. This type of situation would not get prioritized resources. Those two people will go back to their day jobs after this is done.
Yeah, it’s hard to say if it’s an egregious percentage of vehicles, but it certainly doesn’t feel super great to see so many real-life examples…
Oh the other hand I really miss it and can’t wait to get it back!
Interesting to hear some areas need to have someone flown in or can’t repair on site. My dealer (Austin) said they have the correct tools and staff to do it, only had to get Porsche to review logs and determine whether they would replace cells or the whole battery. They said they do the test in...
That’s too bad really. These problems are not specific to Porsche (maybe save the crazy Porsche tax) nor are they uncommon across the EV sector as a whole - every EV is dropping value like a meteor, EVs tend to take less regular maintenance but seem a little bit more nightmarish when something...
That sucks, sorry man.
Separately, these exorbitant repair costs coupled with wild depreciation is exactly why we’re about to see a ton of Taycan’s patch-worked together - busted windshields, dents/scrapes, shitty aftermarket wheels, etc. Low entry fee into Porsche World and then BAM, you...
I believe that’s only the case if you optioned that glass.
I do not have that glass and have my Uniden R7 mounted off the rear view mirror using a BlendMount solution, and haven’t had any issues with range.
