Porsche do say they have the solution for the cars with the problem and that it is a software fix.
They have told me not to use my CTEC lithium charger as it is not suitable for the Taycan - only the one they use is suitable and it is extremely expensive !
I carry a booster just in case (have...
Yes - My Porsche Tonbridge for example use 90A Deutronic chargers which have the ability to control current levels and are available online. For example: https://www.deutronic.com/
An awful lot of owners are having this problem so probably my local Porsche dealer who acknowledges that there is a problem might be correct ! Lets hope the 12 Volt switch software update that they say should sort it will.
It depends on the type of 12 Volt Lithium charger. One of the more in depth discussions with Porsche technical team explains a bit of this:
”I’d like to start by clarifying the current logic of 12V battery support by the HV system in Taycan’s. As we understand it, the 12V battery is supported...
Not sure which year you have but my 2023 is booked in for an update to the 12 Volt switch software / firmware which they say is for my year and just come out and should sort the problem of low 12 Volt messages etc which has been a problem with mine each winter since I had it (they have in the...
You are probably correct but each time Porsche has completed an in depth check on the 12 Volt they have found it to be fine. Obviously it is either a software or hardware problem. Lets hope this latest update to the 12 Volt switch software / firmware sorts it - they say it is specific to my year...
I have had the same problem each winter with Porsche finding no faults in either software or 12 Volt. However I have had Porsche Tonbridge phone me last week to ask me to arrange for car to go back in as Porsche have an update for the 12 Volt software for my year (2023). It goes in on 23 January...
I had the same symptoms this time last year. I used a lithium charger to get the 12 Volt back up to full - Porsche say not to leave it on maintenance just use it to bring up to charge and stop. I had Porsche check both 12 Volt and software - they found nothing wrong with either. Not had a repeat...
Porsche Tonbridge had mine in twice as had same problems and eventually sorted it with a number of software refreshes including navigation. So for me it was definitely a software problem (they did not say exactly which refresh / update cured it though).
I had same problem and like to use it as it shows on the heads up where as I can’t get google maps to show on heads up.
Porsche will update the software if you take it in. I had to take in twice but then they opened a ticket and following advice updated a number of software items including the...
Yes (see other thread). Required two visits to Porsche and a technical ticket being opened but they finally sorted it by updating lots of different software specified by the result of the ticket including but not only the navigation software specified in technical instruction 9152 (meant to be...
I have had to send the car back twice to try and sort my navigation issues out. They have finally managed to fix it after starting a ticket with Porsche and following their instruction. It has now for the last couple of weeks performed perfectly with no glitches. Not sure exactly what software...
For extended storage you have to use a suitable 12 Volt Lithium charger / maintainer - not really a big deal.
As it says on page 3
“The 12-volt Lithium-Ion battery must be charged every 8 weeks the vehicle is in storage. The 12-volt battery must only be charged using a suitable battery charger...
I have had exactly the same reply.
All working correctly at moment following Porsche Centre updates but by all accounts this might only be a temporary fix and problem will be reoccurring shortly. Will update if it remains fixed.
Just had Porsche Centre reload nav data from usb to pcm and carry out a sat nav database software update. They say this has corrected fault so will try out tomorrow and see.
