Due to poor signal I’ve not been able to read the last few pages but here is my take. I’ve got a 4s and would have had the turbo if I could have got an allocation within a reasonable time period. I had to wait 9 months for the 4s and supposedly an EXTRA 9 months for a turbo. That would have...
Yeah what a great part of the world. Right now I’m just outside Perth. Tomorrow, old milItary road to Aviemore then over to Ullapool. Final stop tomorrow Dornoch castle. Then a dash through the great glen past FW and into Glencoe before a night in Glen Etive, them home on Saturday.
Not doing...
Really have to say what a joy it is to take a long distance road trip in a Taycan. I drove from the midlands to the north of Scotland today, 400plus miles. I charged with Ionity at Gretna and Perth, 20 minutes or so at each while I took a coffee. Charging was flawless and impressively quick to...
Not a crazy question since high currents result in high emfs and power electronics switching systems can make it worse. It seems that it’s not just charging but how you discharge that has an impact. Anyone going to ease off the gas so as not to expose themselves. Not me. ?. See the last...
I think there a couple of things to consider here and not trying to be picky. Firstly, the TTS drag is 0.25 but more importantly the 625 hp is not really a continuous rating but a 10 second rating. I’ve never seen anything published about the rating after 10 seconds. This is why I make the...
OK VERY rough calculation here. You can normally say that top speed changes approximately with the cube of power providing things like drag do not change.
If you take a base Taycan with 326hp and a top speed of 143mph and assuming power tails off with revs / time at the same rate as the TTS then...
Normally I’d welcome this but the timing sucks for me. I’ll be right in the middle of my first multi day road trip of well over 1000 miles with all likelihood of poor signal. Here’s hoping for a smooth experience?.
For those who have the WNA5 update, how did it go? And did you experience any issues as a result? Mine is getting updated today and has previously been totally faultless. I'm hoping it stays that way!
Yes, I have chrono but it doesn't deliver the extra power on demand that I was referring to. Now if sports plus could be set up to add the 2.5 seconds whenever I mashed the throttle that would be ideal.
For me some form of sport response button, so I could have my 2.5 seconds of extra power any time I wanted it. Or maybe just any time I mashed the throttle
I'm leasing but can buy at the end of the lease. I'm hoping for 6 to 8 years but if battery tech rockets forward then I will take another look at the end of the lease and possibly move on to something else
Thanks, yes this is the question, is the torque curve the same shape just higher or does the constant torque part of the curve extend to higher revs. Either could make more power for launch. It looks like there is nothing published on this.
Thanks for this. Yes, understood. Luckily earlier in my career I was on the leadership team of a company selling drives so my technical understanding of drives and motors is OK. I think I could have phrased the question better last night (there was red wine involved). Really I'd just like to...
