I’m sure it isn’t supposed to die after a week. As it happens I left mine for a week without charging and it was absolutely fine. I’m sure it can go much much longer if required.

Like the OP, I was also planning on PPF (and window tints) for my white Taycan RWD. However after receiving the car it already looks amazing, especially when I still have ~5k USD in my pocket! Hence no PPF or tints for me.

TLDR; car is amazing without it! Apparently it isn’t available in my country so I can’t use it anyway… but the car works wonderfully and is amazing to drive without it. So I guess I won’t miss what I’ve never had… One thing I do want, and I think is related, is for each key to be associated...

I think both versions look cool. As a result, I’m happy with the standard and a few thousand bucks in my pocket for something else! I received my car recently, standard exterior, and still can hardly believe how good it looks [to me]. Horses for courses though!

What is the price of peace of mind? Personally I've never had PPF and never felt that I missed it. Maybe I've been lucky. I'll keep taking my chances and use the touch up method if I ever have to. Now, kerbing wheels... I haven't been so lucky and I fear there's no PPF that will help me there!

I toyed with this option myself and in the end decided against it. I just took delivery of my car and I'm glad I saved myself the 1000 USD +. That's because a) how could I know the difference by not having it, b) it's quiet anyway, c) the sports sound is awesome and I don't want to not hear it...

That's devastating that it's available elsewhere but not in HK. I can't imagine why it isn't available. I wonder if there is any way around it?

Oh no, for the key assignment are you saying that’s not available in HK or just the “good to know” app? Presumably I can just download the app from the US app store?

This is a really great question, and I hope you don’t mind if I extend it slightly by asking how PCM handles two phones with two alternating drivers? Sometimes I will drive the car, sometimes my missus - how do the phones connect and how will the PCM handle it if both phones are in the car?
