19.2kW charger fix for EA charging and Plug & Charge

Plug and charge. I don’t need it. I just want it. I’ll live if I can’t retrofit it but I would like to know either way.

19.2kW charger fix for EA charging and Plug & Charge

Without getting into the cost aspect, I’d like a definitive answer as to whether this can be added to earlier cars and if so what is required to do that. I’ve seen so many posts that don’t add up to an answer to that question. After knowing that, costs can be analyzed. Car manufacturers are so...

electrical system error vehicle traction standby

Mine did that once. Like yours it didn’t show this error when I restarted the car.

Bizarre 'whistleblower' claims “60% of all delivered Taycan have battery issues that caused replacements, damages and fires”

Being cynical, I would suggest it’s not impossible that a site called Teslaratti (or whatever ) is a bit upset after hearing the Taycan globally is outselling the Model S and X combined. A lot of Tesla sites and Youtube channels seem to have a lot riding on Tesla success and actively hate any...

Bizarre 'whistleblower' claims “60% of all delivered Taycan have battery issues that caused replacements, damages and fires”

I‘m no expert at all but if there is a safety problem with a vehicle and it’s repaired in stealth mode without informing owners I would imagine huge penalties are triggered. Add on that we’re talking Volkswagen I would think that fact either directly or indirectly that fact would cause an even...

Bizarre 'whistleblower' claims “60% of all delivered Taycan have battery issues that caused replacements, damages and fires”

Well if my car catches on fire I’ll have no choice but to upgrade to a 2022 Taycan Turbo S.

    Electrical failure warning

Mine did this recently after I got in the car, it booted up normally, but then I had to get out because I forgot something in the house. I saw this red message showing the electrical failure just as I switched off the power by holding the button as I always do when exiting. I went in the house...

Does anyone actually charge to only 80%?

I mostly charge between 50% to 60% unless I need the range specifically for a trip. I think70% is the most I’ve ever charged to at home. There are so many fast chargers of all kinds within minutes of my house and along almost every road I use I don’t even think about it. I’m lucky to live in...

? World Premiere: 2022 Taycan GTS Sedan and GTS Sport Turismo

Look if it doesn’tpass the “moose test” or if I can’t play video games with the steering wheel while charging I’m not at all interested. Sub 1 second 0-60 or go home I say. You have to have priorities. Am I right?

New 4s only 800mi on car/Brakes (PSCB) squealing

Mine was squealing a bit after I bought it. A couple of hard braking events from high speed stopped mine from doing that. Hasn’t returned after a couple of months of use.

    Charging At Porsche Dealers

Well, as a dealer, why would you want a pesky confirmed Porsche buyer that supposedly is in a high financial demographic with an obvious interest in the latest technology walking around looking at new cars and possibly talking to sales people about their next vehicle purchase. I mean, what if...

2020 Taycan Turbo S Dead after 11 months

Yeah that’s what I thought. I removed that though as I noticed earlier in this thread someone who had a battery replaced said specifically they did restart the warranty click on the battery. IDK.

    Will Porsche address software issues

I noticed this morning that there’sa recall for my car regarding something about the flashers activating during a collision alert or something. It wasn’t clear to me what the issue is. I’m not worried about it at all but it did cross my mind if there was ever something that seemed fixable by...

2020 Taycan Turbo S Dead after 11 months

My 2020 Turbo I bought used a few months ago showed this same message last week but only briefly a I was getting out of the car. I drove it a few minutes later and it was fine. I know this may sound weird but if I need to get a whole new battery I say COOL! While the battery's out I think...

Is it just me, or did your Taycan come with an unrequested, always-on tracking device called StarGard?

So interestingly, San Diego Porsche service department just told me even they don’t know where the device is. I tend to believe him as I think LoJac is the same way. Double super secret installation location. I’m going to call Stargard but I’m taking bets on how difficult finding this tracker is...

Is it just me, or did your Taycan come with an unrequested, always-on tracking device called StarGard?

I pulled both fusebox covers and didn’t see anything added on. I’ll do a little more research but I’ll probably just get the dealer to remove the thing when it goes in for it’s 20k mile service. I think it’s so tacky they even stick this thing on there. There are so many useful things that n be...

Is it just me, or did your Taycan come with an unrequested, always-on tracking device called StarGard?

I’ll post what I find. I know each installation could be different but it can’t hurt to have more real world information added to the thread. Thanks for the additional info.

Is it just me, or did your Taycan come with an unrequested, always-on tracking device called StarGard?

Thanks for that. I’ll poke around in there. Hopefully they didn’t do anything stupid like hardware it in. I have every intention of having it removed. If it iS hardwired, doubtful, I’ll have the dealer remove it. If they complain about doing that we’ll see what Porsche says about it. Thanks.

Is it just me, or did your Taycan come with an unrequested, always-on tracking device called StarGard?

I bought my used 2020 at Porsche San Diego and it had the StarGard added by the dealership. I have no good excuse other than being too lazy and exhausted from the ride down there to pick the car up to argue about it being removed. The question I have is has anyone removed the physical device...
