Well, if you ask the Taycan forum whether a car needs an exhaust note to have soul, you get a pretty solid, no. I am fortunate (in my retirement) to have a ‘57 Corvette, a beaut of a 993 coupe, a ‘16 Carrera GTS, and a ‘23 Taycan GTS (GTS is most often the sweet spot in P-cars). They are all...
The Tesla app shows only destination chargers available in San Diego County. All but one are (is) grey, one is red. Even the red one is a slow charger.
This is from left field, but I saw a Taycan Sportback the other day in Signal Yellow—very bright orange yellow. I don’t even like yellow cars, but this one looked spectacular. Must have been a PTS, so $12k extra :) . You won’t see yourself coming and going.
I like driving my '23 GTS Taycan, the smoothness, instant power/torque and quite ride are all marvelous attributes. But, I love driving my 991 GTS and 993 Carrera. The sound of an NA engine, and the feel of pulling through 2nd and 3rd gears is intoxicating. There is something missing with even...
Our '23 GTS IS plug and charge. We've got 19K miles and several long trips on it, and the EA network, for all its deficiencies, does work as plug and play. Maybe ask your Porsche dealer to look into this.
I use Apple Music through CarPlay. But I have trouble with CarPlay. 1) it doesn't start right away, and often needs coaxing; 2) If the car is in gear, it severely limits the music on my phone that is available. Either missing or greyed out. If the car is in Park, I see all the music.
We have a ‘23 Taycan GTS with 21” wheels. The very best ranged we’ve achieved is 220 mi, and we’ve never seen better than 200 kW on EA, mostly under 150 kW. Drove San Diego to Montana and back this summer. Have you all road tripped a more performance oriented J1.2 Taycan, and what range can be...
When Porsche offered to buy us all a new charger to replace the mobile charger (which worked fine) I found that the NYTimes recommended Grizzl-e charger for just over $300. Very simple and works great. Can use 14-50 plug or can be hard wired. Half the price of Charge-point. I use the Taycan...
Interesting. When I bought my '23 GTS the price was MSRP, and the lease was almost 10%. Still, I wish I'd leased. I will never see 289 miles with a full charge.
I have a '23 GTS with 16000 miles, 21" tires. The life-time efficiency is about 30 kWh/100 miles according to the vehicle display. Compare that to the numbers being published for the new Tesla 3 and the Polestar 2--both at about 20 kWh/100 miles. I love the GTS, but the range is very...
We just took a trip from San Diego to Glacier National Park and back in our '23 Taycan GTS (21" wheels). We are very conservative about running charging, and try to hit all the EA chargers. Hence we charge about every 150 miles. I know. Anyway, we charged up in Bakersfield on the way home, and...
On a recent trip up the west coast we encountered EA service workers and they described the upgrades. The newer equipment works much more reliably. This is a good thing. BTW charging in the rural NW was easy compared with charging in metro markets. LA is the worst by far.
I got this too. I unpaired the phone, and re-paired it. Then, use the My Porsche App, navigate to your car, select Vehicle Details. In the window select Functions, and then select My Porsche in Apple Car Play. I think you can reestablish your Car Play connection, and the mileage will again sync...
Which app? The only app in the US is My Porsche, and I can't find a manual available there. Good to know does not seem to be available in the US any longer. Thanks
I second this, especially the rear wheel steering--that's a no brainer. I do like the way my GTS handles, although I haven't compared with and without PTV. My other cars are Carreras, so the comparison is not valid.
