Pretty sure I am at the back of the line, just arriving to port yesterday :). Your order locked the week I was placing my order on 4/23, with an original 'arrive at port' date of 7/2.
I got there yesterday, so if you guys didn't get on, I doubt I did either, perhaps we'll grab the next one...
Of the one option I didn't get I am still torn on the side skirts (I only got the 20" Sport Aero wheels)! I also think you may be right on the chrono wheel (not a fan of the clock).
On my poverty spec 4S, (only 118k USD), I had to get the Gloss Black Window Trim after realizing the 4S is the...
I am mostly concerned with ambient temperatures actually, as you can see scrolled 60% down the page "Vehicles driven in hot temperatures show faster decline in battery SOH" https://www.geotab.com/blog/ev-battery-health/
I am mostly concerned with longevity of that pack. As you've stated only going 9/10ths or above will get the battery out of line, the powertrain never overheats to my knowledge, it's 270KW regen braking, so you have to be digging hard into the brakes frequently to overheat the pack. This is...
Thanks, as per the article:
"Depending on the outside temperature, the battery is preconditioned to a certain temperature level when the vehicle is connected to the mains for charging. The interior can be preconditioned independently of the mains."
It would seem interior cooling is separate...
I live in a hot climate (Arizona), and was wondering when the battery cooling is engaged.
I have read in the user manual to drive in Normal mode to keep the front air vents open to optimize cooling after a DCFC session, I suspect normal mode in general cools the battery better than Range mode...
Did you ever figure this out? I know the 22 Model Year will have the option for aluminum pedals, so Suncoast Parts may have a retrofit purchase option Q2 or so next year.
I was comparing DIN weight to DIN weight, you're comparing a different style of weighing. This shows the DIN weights:
Taycan: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_Taycan
BMW...
Actually they're the same weight, the Taycan 4S with larger battery is 4894lbs as is the i4 M50 at 4883 (11 lbs isn't exactly significant). I was actually under the impression you want a longer wheelbase for canyons, hence why RAS acts to 'lengthen' the wheelbase during high speed turns...
Thanks for your reply. I am likely going to try a DIY ceramic coating on the lower half of the interior b-pillar in ceramic as well for 'some' protection. Perhaps I'll post in a couple months when I get the car, still just planning right now while I am waiting on delivery.
Does PPF look good on plastics? I was under the impression you dont PPF the outside black plastic parts. I am getting a full front done in PPF, but I plan on doing a DIY ceramic clear coat application.
Curious if anyone has tried to ceramic coat the interior b-pillar or something else to protect it from scratches from ingress and egress. A concern of applying a coating would be perhaps making the b-pillar too shiny and out of place of the rest of the vehicle.
Thought from anyone with...
These two trims appear to be very similar performance wise. I read the steering feel on the BMW isn't there, but it seems like an interesting alternative from a company that does pay respects to driving dynamics for ~50k less. What are you thoughts?
Put order in 4/13 for 7/30 delivery. Taycan 4S, the build was supposed to start this week. Haven't received any official Porsche tracking except word of mouth from my sales rep this June 1st said:
"Your Taycan has now been locked for production, and is
scheduled to begin the build this...
1) Please correct me if I am wrong, but when you don't spec the PMCC it comes with a basic PMC in the NA/US market?
2) I have read on other forums that the upgraded PMCC comes with the wall mount in the bag. Is this true for just the basic non-upgraded Porsche Mobile Charger as well?
Thanks!
