I was replying to the part that said, "AFAIK that warning only comes on if you are not holding the steering wheel for an extended time with automatic lane keeping switched on."
I've personally gotten the warning while I had my hand on the wheel and actively steering. It just goes away when I reposition my hand. Never have I experienced the braking though.
I'm definitely aware of the engine control error. I had it once myself. I thought you were referring to the way they described the car's behavior. I.e., "the vehicle begins to shake and then immediately brakes on its own, coming to an abrupt stop". That's the part/behavior I've never heard of...
I get the notices from Lexus just because I was the one who took my wife's car in for its first service. We've attempted to change the information several times but the correspondence still comes in my name. She's very perturbed about it as well.

I'm on the East coast of the US and I can always get an appointment within days. And they always provide a loaner, which is usually a substandard base Macan. But at least it's something.
They can fix it. They just don't know how. Tell them to contact Checkered Flag Porsche in VA Beach, VA and ask how they fixed it in my car. They should talk to Philippe in the service department.
