Got the specs from the owner:
F: 21x9 ET42
R: 21x10.5 ET45
Narrower than OEM 21s, which are 9.5 and 11.5" wide. However, the offsets place his wheels 12mm and 9mm outwards in a more aggressive stance.
I've replied elsewhere, but I can confirm that the Porsche cross bars for my Cayenne are Thule. I can only assume that the Taycan bars will be the same, and will fit Thule attachments.
Thanks so much for the photos. I guess there wasn't any driving done with the spacers on to test for rubbing and clearance? The front looks a bit too much.... maybe 10mm on both front and rear might be the way to go for me.
15/10 should be great! That would provide a very noticeable change in the stance of the car. I would love to see this.
Performance? Very very subtle changes. Some handling academics may say that there's a change position of the wheel/tire in relation to the finely tuned Porsche suspension...
So some people have had success removing and glueing the spacer to the new part, and some people have had success not using the spacer at all on the new marker.
Do we have a conclusion? Or do we go by trial and error on a case-by-case basis?
Yes, you're on the right track.
However, If you already know what aftermarket wheels you're buying (and they're big 21s or 22s), get stock 19" or 20" wheels. Do not pay for the 21" wheel upgrade. It's cheaper to buy new rubber in your new wheel size.
There will be buyers for your stock 19s...
Depends... the offsets of the 971 Panamera wheels are slightly higher, by 11mm up front, and 3mm in the back. So that means they'll be set INWARD (into the wheel well) by 11mm and 3mm too much. You could probably consider 5 or 10mm spacers to bump them outwards to a stock Taycan offset, but...
I’m still searching! If I had to guess from photos (I don’t have my car yet), I’d say the rear can come out 10-12mm and the front 8–10mm. But I don’t want to make a $5000 “guess”!!!
That all looks great! Anyone know why Porsche doesn't have their winter mat set out yet? I usually get these given to me as part of the purchase from the dealer.
For the frunk in my 911, I found a clear tupperware tote box that fits perfectly. I wonder if anyone has looked for something similar...
I'm on the west coast of Canada so our temperature extremes are quite mild compared to other parts of the country. -5C to +30C is about all my car will see, with the vast majority of days between +5-20C. Lots of Canadian cars will see -20 or -30 on a regular basis!
As such, many Canadian car...
Nice detail with the door sills. My carmine red is also in production soon, with an anticipated September delivery here in Canada.
@Jayjay and @feye what are you planning on doing with wheels? Looking at winter wheels or aftermarket wheels at all? I've got Mission E wheels spec'ed on mine.
Wow to both of you... so it seems like once one adds a Taycan to the stable, our ICE cars become relics of the past. Even 911s. Makes me a little sad for my 911; like an old loyal dog when the new spritely puppy arrives.
