Chester. And the saloon. I was told in July I was 6th in the queue and looking at a June 23 build. Now I’m 9th (?!) and looking at an Oct/Nov 23 build.
Not going to get annoyed about it, even if there’s some reallocations at the dealer to priorise different customers or if I was just given an...
Just been told by my dealer that having ordered April this year (Taycan GTS) that it’s going to be another 12 months before I even get a build slot. Most annoying - but what can you do ??♂️??♂️
I’ve clocked those GTS’s as well; I think there’s another gone on the market today (a black one) - I think it’s £150k odd, which is well over list and it has been a demonstrator by the look of it. Who in their right mind would pay over list, what a complete waste of money!
I can validate this, had the update done on my 4S a few weeks ago and I’m getting about 15 miles more than before. Plus the new coloured buttons & parking sensor bings are much better ?
Yes, if you buy another one in 3 years time - and assuming the rules are the same - then yes it will offset against the adjustment that will be made on the sale of your current one. It’s a big if though, as I would not expect the rules to be the same in 2025 as they are now, so don’t hold your...
You have to account for depreciation when calculating the corp tax tax saving (it’s not an allowable expense) - so you don’t save 19k on a 100k taycan, you save 19k less 19% of depreciation charged (let’s say 15% reducing balance so just under 3k off the 19k - so it’s 16k saved in year one. Obvs...
I can only comment on my own experiences, but my local Porsche dealer has always been awful (dismissive, not open to discussion, rude, poor customer service etc etc) even prior to Covid - the complete opposite of Chester.
This is really smart, and good advice for anyone buying any car, not just a Porsche. Remember, since Covid dealers have had to incorporate UK wide delivery, so you don’t have to order from your local dealer you can order from anywhere.
Finding out how how many orders are ahead of you, and then...
Keep the roof! Looks the nuts and also lets in some much needed light especially if you have a black interior. Also, I personally don’t think you need the rear wheel steering, for such a big car I find the turning circle is very good and also it handles perfectly well without it even when you...
That’s really lucky, but like you say to be expected - and things aren’t going to get any better for the rest of this year at least. They’re lovely cars too.
I can’t really complain as I have a Taycan 4S at the moment, I bought it 2nd hand so it’s missing a couple of options I’d usually spec...
Porsche Chester. Yes I was told 12-18 months in April, so he said June to me just now but it’ll be September for sure. I’m hoping for some cancellations ?
Audi’s interest rate is outrageous at the moment even on new cars, it’s daylight robbery. I’ve just been told I’m 7th on the list for my GTS (ordered April this year) so it will be June next year - which means September at the earliest in reality - which means I’ll have to swallow another price...
I’m not sure I buy that. There’s only 54 Taycans on autotrader - thats bugger all. I suspect they’ve given you that line so they can offer a lower trade in price and therefore the make themselves even more profit when they sell a car on.
I’m sure, but passing that cost over to the customer is piss poor customer service. If they don’t honour the price at the point of order for those who are currently waiting for their cars to be built/delivered, which I’m assuming will happen, it’s not exactly good PR.
Correct, but only 4 hours out of 24 (with the other 20 being higher than my current tariff) means the saving is minimal and not worth changing to be honest. May as well ride it out till prices come down next year. Either way it’s a massive saving over petrol ?
I’ve just spoken to Octopus and the only tariff they are offering is 4 hours at 7.5 overnight. That’s not a massive saving, especially when you have to consider the peak rate is higher than most and you’ll also have to pay off what you owe with your current supplier.
Thanks, that’s basically in a nutshell my thoughts on it. I had an RS E-Tron on order but cancelled it when I picked up my 4S (and have subsequently ordered a GTS); although I know the Audi will have slicker tech and physical buttons it won’t drive anywhere near as nicely as the Porsche. And...
