Dealer called me a few weeks back telling me delivery will be delayed by 3+ weeks.
Now, car arrived at the dealership today, so sooner than the new delivery date ;-)
Quite happy!
It depends where and how you drive. Maneuvering is very different (= better) with RAS.
So is high speed (>120 mph).
In all other situation, the Power Steering option gives you a similar feel.
If you should order depends where you live/ drive–cities, winding roads and high speed: yes;
slow...
No, we ex-Tesla drivers know that the car doesn't perform as tweeted.
You can test yourself if you have one. On the Autobahn, a Tesla in Lud mode is done in a few mins.
Taycan's are basically all the same – except power train.
i.e., Turbo has extras that you all can option on a 4S, except the extra torque and hp.
So the question is, can you actually use the ridiculous power of a Turbo in your county?
RAS can be somewhat replaced with the Steering Plus option.
Sport Chrono is a must on Porsches as it gives you the drive modes with selector on the steering wheel.
In fact, I test drove a 4S which had the Steering Plus and not RAS and I thought it would have RAS from driving. Was surprised when...
I think it might be a charge calibration issue–which I had with laptop computers and smart phones.
For those, a procedure to re-calibration is known.
Please keep us posted!
Also tested Turbo, S and 4S–same results
my bottom line is, the Turbo is best price for value. Significantly faster & more push than the 4S, while no difference outside launch control compared to the Turbo S.
note: the overboost power is only available for 2.5s during launch control start...
The PCCB doesn't make a huge difference on the Porsche sports cars, unless you fit performance/ track tyres.
With the – super heave & recuperating Taycan – even less so.
The important difference is that they don't rust. Just like the PSCB…
The PCCB is approx 5kg/ disc, saves ~4 x 5 kgs compared to the PSCB
However, as of model year 2021, the calipers are heavier than the now 6 piston ones of the PSCB
Frankly, the PCCB doesn't make sense on an EV as recup kicks in anyways and the PSCB is massive.
Avoiding dust is prob the biggest...
