I also moved from a 991S to Taycan Turbo.
For me, the TT is the more practical car and feels techically superior.
Smooth ride and/ or ultra fast. It's also a better fit for our times – ultra low energy consumption, no emissions (incl. noise) etc. I also find the additional space, 2 extra doors...
The latest seems to be:
No facelift 2024, as car sells better than supply can deliver (Porsche still is not able to produce as many cars as could be sold, also they prioritize ICE over EV as margin there is higher)
Lost in translation: 2024 in Germany would mean car is announced in Fall 2024...
I tested with and w/o extensively. The RAS has only two advantages:
1. when driving relatively slow in cities, narrow roads, parking garages etc.
2. when driving fast it stabilizes the car and also improves handling significantly.
It doesn't do anything if you're not driving.
If the latter...
Important to understand: a battery is not like a gas tank, i.e. with a "known" amount of content.
The percentage reading is an estimate (calculated with various parameters).
Plus, as you said, temperature is a critical parameter. So is the SOC (the closer you are to 50%, the lesser you would...
I had to answer the same question for myself.
My summary was:
* Turbo S doesn't actually feel faster than the Turbo (on the road) – both are fast beyond legal
* Turbo already comes with the much bigger, non-corroding brakes
* Turbo S mostly adds expensive trim that is useless to me
* 4S needs a...
Battery degradation depends a lot on charging behavior…
20-80%, little high-speed charging, etc. help a lot
So read it out.
Some magazines were really surprised how well the battery survived 100'kms.
I switched from 911S to a Taycan Turbo.
Very happy with the move, but you have to understand it is a somewhat different car.
The Taycan is very fast on public roads, silent, very comfortable and convenient (4 doors, 2 trunks etc.), but not really a sports car (it is definitely the most sporty...
There were a few flaws in the early models, but they should all be fixed by now (12V battery…)
Make sure you have the approved warranty, you might be still able to add this but the current owner has to do it.
Otherwise, actually the software makes the biggest difference between the years – and...
To increase prices is just logical. Demand surpasses supply (by far).
I would just do the same.
Also, it's not meant to be a mass car for everyone. I like that, honestly.
I am also quite amused to read tests here and how much better the Taycan still is compared to other EVs (800Vs is a big...
I was also quite impressed how well the car works in heavy snow.
What is quite noticeable is the advantage in stability in snow or in wet conditions.
Mostly, I think, this is b/ the PSM and 4-wheel drive systems act much faster than in ICE cars.
