New wrap and PPF: "Shark Blue" vinyl + Satin PPF

Wow! This is sure a nice way to get a "new car" for probably less than $15k USD (Vinyl & PPF only - I'm sure the wheels alone were $4k). Enjoy this new car! ?

Here’s what I had to do. login to your porsche ID at my. Porsche.com Choose Services from the upper left menu. Under Services, choose Service and Maintenance Scroll to the bottom and the third item from the bottom is ecalls where you can enter your VIN Thanks @gtm for pointing this out. Such...

Dreaded Red Electrical System Error & Poll

@Avantgarde - First, I agree with your comment that we are missing specifics as to why modules fail, and at what point module failure leads to total battery replacement. It seems to me that there are three possibilities -- Manufacturing Defects in Modules -- Each module is manufactured by a...

Sell 2021 Taycan Turbo resale value (before vs after warranty expiration)?

I agree with @whitex & @unbiased - Assuming I don’t purchase a new Taycan before June 2025, I plan to purchase a Porsche extended warranty. I know this will be a good deal better than worrying about cost whenever some aspect of the advanced electronics in my 2021 4s fails.

Porsche Taycan Prototype Sets New Wireless Charging Record

As a prototype this is of course bulky and impractical for production purposes, but it does show what is possible. I had no idea that there was a way to get to 270kW charging wirelessly, so for me this demonstration may offer the promise of a practical solution sometime in the future.

Porsche Taycan Prototype Sets New Wireless Charging Record

Very interesting new technology tested at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Of course we’re not getting this new tech any time soon, but great to see innovation in charging.

    Can't set up a Homelink

UPDATE - Heard from my service advisor today. Porsche has a patch for the Homelink problem. I’ll be going in Monday to get it fixed. 8/5/24 UPDATE - Took the car in today and patch was installed and works fine. I had to reprogram the Homelink of course, but at least it was a Taycan version...

    Red Circle of DEATH

My suggestion is to write an email to John Capella, the Executive VP and COO of PCNA. I've found that these emails ARE responded to, usually by an assistant. I was kidded by the Forum members a while ago who suggested ChatGPT was being used to respond to me, but I've actually gotten problems...

On off button on Taycan dangerous?

Two separate thoughts on the ON/OFF button -- OTA Updates -- We were all told that OTA updates were possible. Sadly that does not appear to be the case, even though I did get ONE a few years ago. The ON/OFF button has a role to play in the OTA process - Park the car. Push and HOLD the...

    Can't set up a Homelink

And somewhat sadly, the remote sometimes makes a slight rattling sound when attached to the visor that sounds like it's coming from somewhere else in the car. I've now realized the remote is the first thing to check!!

    Can't set up a Homelink

I have the same problem now, and there isn't a fix yet. I spoke with the Service Manager and the SA and it appears Porsche needs to patch the SW so that the component that controls HomeLink behavior realizes it is a Taycan, not a Macan. I've been waiting 8 weeks for the fix, and nothing yet.

Porsche announces EPA range estimates for 2025 Taycan

So refresh my memory. What were the EPA estimates for the V1 Taycan? As I recall, they were a bit low and we’ve all experienced better mileage, but I don’t have the details at hand.

    Red Circle of DEATH

As I understand it, you are driving a Taycan base model loaner, right? If that's the case, and assuming it is a good match to your needs, I'd rack up the miles on the loaner while Porsche sorts this out. Does the loan have free charging at Electrify America (as your car does)? If not I...

It works and now I can be Knight Rider

On the subject of mileage, I'm noticing what everyone else is - that during the warm summers the predicted mileage goes up, and in the winter it goes down. I've got a 2021 MY 4s and the highest "max range" ever has been 260 miles, so I'm pleased that this year the summer max range is showing...

    Taycan production slowdown

I think it’s actually pretty simple. If Porsche builds cars that are high-performance, fun to drive, and priced in the range that they traditionally priced their vehicles, they will continue to be successful. One advantage of selling to the premium end of the market is that the competition is...

    Red Circle of DEATH

One small addition to your suggested protocol. I would suggest taking pictures of the dash every time you get in the car when the red circle of death has happened. You want to be able to show with a timestamped series of photos how long this event is lasting. And of course you could get one of...

    Taycan production slowdown

The latest report on 2023 sales shows that the US is Porsche’s largest market. China’s second and Europe, close third. Overall sales increase 3% over 2022, even though China sales decreased...

    Taycan production slowdown

Let’s be real here. The article you reference calls out a maximum of 6-10 thousand layoffs (world wide)for the remainder of the year across dozens of companies. This is hardly a massive layoff across high-tech industries. In fact, it’s much smaller than it was several years ago at the end of...
