  1. Wi-fi Hotspot

I’ve posted here in the UK forum as hotspot configurations seem to vary regionally in tens of what is and what isn’t possible from country to country. I’m keen to be able to connect to my car’s hotspot from my phone on account that when the OTA module enters a low power configuration around 6...
  2. My Porsche website down

Clearly been quickly addressed. Now working here too! Great to see Porsche resolve it quickly. ?
  3. My Porsche website down

Well, that’s both a relief and a frustration. Looks like a global issue. Alas, it really does look as simple as someone in Porsche’s IT Team has failed to renew the relevant website domain’s SSL certificate, which is real schoolboy error stuff if proven. If this is global, there will be a flood...
  4. My Porsche website down

Is anyone else finding this morning issues accessing the My Porsche website? The errors I‘m experiencing suggest the SSL certificate for the website has expired. I‘ve tried to access the website via both Safari and Chrome using the latest build of IPadOS but keep being met with the error code...
  5. Web interface for Porsche connect charger

Hoping you can perhaps offer some insights for my own Porsche Mobile Charger Connect. The device is switched on and successfully connected to my wifi router - have verified this within the network address to access the settings and active connections to the router. However, when I enter the IP...
  6. Pod point a good choice and where to mount?

Many thanks! Really helpful. I’ve now recommended that CU to my electrician. Given the lack of means to install an earthing rod close to my property, this looks a far more cost effective solution. While my charger will be housed within the garage, the charging cable will go beneath the garage...
  7. Pod point a good choice and where to mount?

Thanks for the input. Good to know I’m on the right lines. My only concern is since I’m using the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect, rather than a Wallbox, I’ll likely will need an earthing rod, making the job vastly more complex since my property is surrounded by a large paved area with no earth...
  8. Pod point a good choice and where to mount?

So, having posted my original enquiry on here a while ago, my Taycan finally arrives tomorrow. Hence, I now need to put the electrical infrastructure in place and need some further advice beyond the fab advice already posted. My favoured option is to have an industrial 32A switched socket...
  9. Swerve Assist

Another tip for myself is to watch autocorrect changing ‘brake’ to ‘break’ on postings ??
  10. Swerve Assist

Alas, I didn’t opt for Adaptive Cruise. I have it on my Mercedes but tire of it not recognising early enough that Audi drivers are about to cut into my lane with little notice or space, before it promptly puts the anchors on. Plus, ahead of tailbacks, it leaves it very late to break. The result...
  11. Swerve Assist

Ah, that would make sense if it only operates in tangent with Innodrive. My Mercedes has the Mercedes version of autonomous driving gen 3 and stereo camera sensors in the windscreen which enable the vehicle to steer around obstacles in emergencies. Now beginning to wish I’d have optioned...
  12. Swerve Assist

Been reading in the manual about ‘Swerve Assist’ as a component of the Taycan’s brake systems. Is this a standard fit capability or an option on MY21 Taycans sold in the UK? I have this on my Mercedes and it saved me colliding with a reckless construction worker driving a van into my vehicle’s...
  13. Pics: Satin PPF and ceramic completed- updated with blackberry interior pics

I think part of the issue may be that Xpel, Suntek and other PPF manufacturers refuse to indemnify against film yellowing when adhered to glass, like the roof and headlights. However, given NVN promote windscreen protection film, I’m curious why films for glass rooves aren’t marketed.
  14. Pics: Satin PPF and ceramic completed- updated with blackberry interior pics

Looks like an amazing spec and excellent job done by NVN. NVN mentioned this job to me when I provisionally booked my new Taycan in for Dec before delivery became delayed. Had been planning to take the vehicle to James Walker’s NVN London for full PPF but the worsening COVID situation here in...
  15. North West England PPF

Massively excited to be taking delivery of my new Taycan on Tuesday having learned from my dealer that PDI completed yesterday. Had been planning to take the vehicle to James Walker’s NVN London for full PPF but the worsening COVID situation here in the UK makes that unviable. Can anyone...
  16. Taycan 4s parked on snow rolling forward - how why and wtf??

If I may add some holistic science to this debate, the modulus of rubber, which can be conveyed in more layman’s terms as it’s softness, is the key point of difference between summer and winter tyres. Softer compounds of rubber have fewer cross links of sulphur between the polyisoprene chains of...
  17. Impact of latest CV19 peaks on supply

Well, that’s both reassuring, on the basis that it’s not me alone that isn’t receiving what I would call stellar customer service from Porsche Preston, and concerning, on account that you received very little notice on your car being ready for collection. The poor customer service has got to...
  18. Impact of latest CV19 peaks on supply

Encouraged to learn Porsche Preston are still delivering cars. Have been promised weekly updates on the status of my inbound vehicle but, in keeping with recent customer service from the dealership, no updates are ever forthcoming without me chasing. Out of curiosity, how much notice did Preston...
  19. Impact of latest CV19 peaks on supply

It's now moved to an indicated planned date of 20.11.2020 and an indicted expected date of 27.11.2020
  20. Impact of latest CV19 peaks on supply

Thanks for the detailed heads-up about Porsche Preston and lockdown operating conditions / collection options. Having been promised an update from the salesperson managing my purchase, I'm still waiting to hear from them. Seems the forum is a much better information source. You'd have thought...
