That's very funny. I am on my second Taycan and did not know this option exists. So ... I am annoyed whenever I pop out to my garage to grab my sunglasses from car for example, or some shopping. I open the car and everything seems to start up. I now think that I must have this option checked on...
Seems like a popular thread!! For what it's worth, I've never owned a private plate. I am not a fan of the vanity (my name plate) but have been tempted ...
My (german) neighbour in London had one which made me chuckle every time I saw it - it spelled KAISER :)
When it came to the Taycan GTS, I...
Two questions please:
First; is plug and charge something that recognises your vehicle without having to use the Porsche RFID card or the MyPorsche App?
Second; Does the RFID card only work with the Porsche or could you charge another electric vehicle at the favourable Porsche rate by using...
From a brief piece of additional research. It is significantly cheaper in the US. Now down to circa US$400 and, in any case, you still have to pay for it to be fitted. Which is (I think) what my dealer was referring to. Their fitting charge is the same regardless of whether or not there is...
Hi Matthew,
I did. The dealer told me it would make no difference to the cost of install in any case! Very annoying. I had assumed I'd just be able to buy the dashcam and self-install. But, no dice. As for rear-cam, I thought I'd seen that listed in the configurator but as far as I know, it's...
A few points from my experience in the UK. I am a private buyer not company car owner so that does make a difference. Company car owners in the UK still benefit from very good tax incentives for electric vehicles including Taycans.
It seems that some combination of Tesla price drop, improved...
I've gone for leather interior. I know that die-hard GTS fans love that race-tex interior, especially with the full GTS treatment. So, I tried to retain GTS / sport features elsewhere; 21" RS Spyder wheels, aluminium pedals, GTS model designation on centre console. Plus the rear steering of...
Hi Jabbar, I am curious about keeping cars 6-9 months. Is that because you get bored? Or you think you can sell them with little or no loss? Obviously, the used car market has been weird over the past couple of years. But before that, it was clear that you lost quite a chunk in the first year...
I'm in the same boat. I contacted my dealer very shortly after launch and got the order in in December 2021. I got invited to Silverstone, got a production date and then ... the order was cancelled! Anyway, here we are again, invited to Silverstone and build has just frozen with delivery in Feb...
I had a 2020 Turbo with Innodrive. I have just confirmed my new GTS spec with ACC but no Innodrive. I think Cruise is essential, ACC is a big improvement, ALK (included with Innodrive) a nice-to-have. But, Innodrive is not my thing and seems to have flaws, so I dropped it and accept the loss of...
I've owned a Turbo with 20" aero wheels and rear-steering for a year. Have a GTS on order (ordered Dec 2021 and in May 22, Porsche "cancelled" my order - WTF?!!) . GTS now due Feb 2023. Took the Turbo out for a last drive last week before leaving it with the dealer as a trade-in. Then took a GTS...
Thanks Fish Fingers. This post is very helpful in giving confidence to me. Since, I've just locked down my GTS spec: Ice Grey, Black Mission Es and black calipers. I had Gentian Blue before and was very tempted to go with a bold colour again but ... Ice Grey I think it is. Hope you're getting on...
Here's another thought. With the Turbo or some custom options, you get colour coded lower side strips and lower front wings. In that case, colour matched mission E's probably look very good. Although, I am with other posters here. I would only do that with light colours such as Ice Grey / White...
Because mission E's expose the disc completely. The discs are prone to rusting which doesn't happen with PCSBs or PCCBs. Porsche standard discs seem to me to rust very easily. Possibly due to higher carbon content or some other material issue.
I've just confirmed GTS spec with PCSB, black gloss...
Hi, my first post to this forum. I'll try to give you some additional data points. I am in the UK, got a GTS on order and just sold my turbo. I was planning to hold onto the Turbo until the GTS arrived but felt the wind was blowing in the wrong direction for valuations i.e. war, interest rates...
