So its safe to assume that 100% charge isnt 100% battery utilization then for Porsche either? Thats good to know if that is the case - and it would make sense that they create a buffer to protect the batteries integrity from premature failures or degradation inside the life of the mfg warranty.
man, you are clearly the smartest guy in this forum - reminds me of a post where you rant about spacers and lowering not being the spec of the car and how silly it is to make these kind of modifications, and then the very next post I read (because that is what I was researching) was your car...
if its just the front lip you can get to it pretty easily from underneath; you will need to get to the upper clips portion and that will be the struggle. In the end, without a hoist, it might be just as easy to remove the bumper cover.
If you have to remove the bumper cover, that is a lot of...
Tesla use to restrict access to 15% of the batter capacity to the user and show it as 100% charge capacity. Has anyone ever broken down the math to determine if Porsche does the same or a version that holds some back to protect the battery?
Overall, they both have a vastly different approach to...
Well, the PMCC prior to this one has a software limitation on the level of Amps at 40A. There are dip switches for this new design (see the installation manual). My point in mentioning the newer release and its capacity is that it undoubtedly has a more capable pigtail to handle that charge...
Well Im guessing that its hard to get 80A from a 40A - my panel has the room for the circuit. That said, I cant imagine that in this new release, it's the same pigtail on the plug side. So, Porsche has solved this overheating problem and they just released it in a new product.
My car has had...
I might be missing something - the recent update noted a 19.2kwH charging rate, which runs an 80A system. If it's really the same, how are they running this kind of current without burning up?

Anybody experienced this?
Charger is in doors and within the Porsche cabinet. The outlet is dedicated 40A circuit. It was evening - garage temp was roughly 70F - feels like a charger fault but the dealership didn't understand it and wanted to blame the operator (me).
There advice was to lower...
I would agree, although I think that this might be like the differences between a Turbo and a Turbo S (I see what you did there!)
In the end, I feel pretty confident about the Escort system; its helped me avoid multiple laser hits by CHP, and that is the goal. You have a great install though -...
In fact, I am. That is exactly the system I was referring to and have had two different cars installed with it - sorry missed the "max" reference...having all their products named the same between the portables and these fixed in options makes it confusing. It has never cost me more than $5,000...
This is more than twice the cost of an Escort 360 CI in car install, with Radar-Mirror add ons etc. It does the same job head to head (including Dragoneye) so other than it looking much more integrated on the exterior, Im not sure double the cost is worth it.
Porsche is notorious for building cars specific to the original build so exact that simple things that could be added after the fact cant be without a great deal of tear down and sometimes not at all - for example, lighted door sills wont be prewired for an add later etc.
My car has two items...
has anyone ever attempted a retrofit? The PCM shows port control greyed out in the control screen. That is really unusual for Porsche, in that they typically don't build anything for later changes down the road.
That said, I wonder if its a indication that with the right OEM gear it could be...
I think we need to remind ourselves how accurate EPA standards are overall. Which is an oxymoron if I ever saw one.
We are getting wrapped around the accuracy of a mileage marker measured against historical consumption. Every ICE car has this DTE measurement. In that, does anybody bypass the...
