~10mm drop. Perhaps others aren’t familiar with the feeling of hitting bump stops or maybe their roads aren’t garbage? Switching from low -> lowered -> normal makes a very marked difference when hitting things like 2” hard transitions from pavement to concrete. Maybe folks are used to or okay...
No chance it was delivered with shipping blocks, I’ve had all four wheels off and poked around. Small bumps and highway travel are no problem, it’s mostly driving around crappy Bay Area roads where it nails the bump stops. It happens most notably in range mode (low height and light damping) on...
The car is a damn bank vault, if the rails were adding noise, then I definitely couldn’t tell. I have the insulated glass option.
I was headed to LA, made it to my destination with 115 miles of range, so pretty uneventful. I’ll be doing the drive from the bay to Vegas, then Vegas to San Diego...
The car did great. I left with a cold battery at 99% charge and drove 262 miles in range mode with 13 miles to spare, mostly down I5 headed south from the Bay Area. The EA charger I used in Bakersfield worked great and took me from 5-85% in the 25 minutes it took me to grab a bite to eat and a...
Thank you! I don’t suppose you also have access to the shock, strut, and air spring part numbers? Hope I’m not pushing my luck :)
edit: see you posted above. Thank you!
Correct, I’ve got mine lowered and it very distinctly crashes onto the bump stops with abrupt road transitions. I have more experience with suspension design than most folks, for what it’s worth, and it’s quite a clear feeling. Doesn’t feel good at all
Interesting! I measured mine myself, and...
You’ll get the ride height using sedan links instead of aftermarket, yep!
The problem is that you’ll be running into the bump stops constantly. I’m running into mine all the time around the Bay Area roads. Having more suspension travel when in the low modes by using sedan parts would solve this...
I measured the CT links yesterday and based on my math, you can just swap CT links for OEM sedan links to get sedan ride height on the CT.
Sedan links: 88F / 95R (mm)
CT links: 82F / 102R (mm)
I’ve requested part numbers for sedan struts and suspension in the general forum to see if it’s...
Hey folks,
I recently picked up a Cross Turismo and I’m curious to learn if it would be difficult to use sedan suspension parts to get the ride height and geometry of the sedan but in the CT body.
So far I’ve measured the lowering links and they are different between the two cars, which...
Interesting! I measured the cross turismo at:
Front: 82mm
Rear: 102mm
This means that the cross turismo should be able to be lowered to sedan height using OEM parts. Would you mind sharing the part numbers printed on your links? I’d love to buy a set of sedan links!
I went with DoubleTake auto spa in Fremont, they were the only ones who could accommodate my schedule due to the unpredictability of delivery dates. I couldn’t bear to have the car sit until January to get into some of the other shops recommended here!
Just dropping in here to confirm that US cross turismos come by default with the vehicle side mounts. There’s no option on the configurator or my build sheet, and here’s a shot of my ‘21 CT:
Well I’m 25 hours into ownership so I’m not sure about transfer from jeans, but I pretty much only wear jeans so I’ll surely find out! The chalk color interior really does match closely to chalk paint.
There’s a gap but the gloss matches everything else. I prefer the way it looks without rails but my SA said I couldn’t have a rack without them, so I got ‘em! This thing will be a hauler
