There are some experienced software engineers on this forum, it seems. My question: if this very dangerous problem is, in fact, software related, why aren’t we seeing a much more widespread appearance of the problem? There are 6,500 Taycans in the US according to news reports. So why aren’t we...
Obviously a lot of work to put another one together. Still, a real world test by an actual owner and at different temperatures would be helpful for everyday driving. I’ve read smewhere that in Range mode you get about 5% more than in normal. So maybe in Normal mode in 70° weather, max range is...
Thanks for this really helpful post. It gives some idea of a best case scenario. The imperial translation is helpful to those of us who, like me, still can’t master temperature and disance conversions from metric. If you are up for it, the same battery of tests, as it were, in normal mode would...
Yes, the site gives you the opportunity to see whether your VIN is affected. The point is to be aware of a recall and check. For one recall affecting the Taycan a notice to owners isn’t even scheduled to go out yet. Perhaps the NHTSA app will put owners on notice before they receive mfg notice...
That’s right. You can read the actual notices at the location I cited. One must check to see whether one’s VIN number is affected. The point is there is a need to check, and seek correction if affected. In some cases, though, NHTSA says in the notice that the VIN numbers are not sequential. I...
Here is the NHTSA web site for the 2021 4S, there have been 2 recalls for that model. I don’t know whether these recalls affect only certain VINs.

That same web address also lists communications between NHTSA...

There is also an app you can get that will alert you if a recall has been issued. My 2021 is supposed to be delivered late this month.
The latest recall is dated May 17...
Thanks for your information.
You may be interested to know that, when I mentioned this forum to him regarding software updates, my dealer advised me to ignore everything I read on here. I chose to ignore the advice. The YT in question states that the EA chargers are 400V chargers and...
One video on YT says you only get 150 kW charging speed on Electrify America if you have installed a 150 adapter in the car. Without it, you are limited to 50 kW charging speed. Did you have that 150 kW adapter installed on your car? Sounds like it may be a necessity to get fast (50+ kW)...
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I was getting concerned, since the Master Plan was to drive the thing locally for a month or two, then head down to FL to visit family, about 800 miles. With that latter trip in mind, I was especially encouraged by Colorado Kid’s comments about his...
