great point. I am looking to get the Taycan out on the track (we have a good one fairly close here) once I get through break-in...maybe I'll start another thread with "track?" topic
My Turbo S arrived with the Continental A/S tires. Will likely swap the Mission-E wheels over to P-Zeros in the spring, unless someone else (Michelin, others?) comes out with a amazing different performance option.
Anyone taken Taycan with P-Zeros out onto the track yet?
Wow, didn't even know I was lucky to get one of the "old" longer PMCC cables. Yes, runs a bit warm, but don't have to do electrical gymnastics to plug it in to 1 of 2 charging locations.
Yup - maybe Porsche has deemed this a 4S-specific issue? Here is the Porsche service screenshot on the campaigns closed for my VIN (with none open) on the Turbo S at least.
For US folks...I called both the dealer I bought from (Ohio) and local dealer service (Minnesota) to see if I could find out if this is a blanket 12V battery replacement program.
Thanks for posting- and sorry about that. When did you take delivery of your Taycan? I was just at Porsche Service last week and didn't get the same message (delivery in late July)
Ha - I'm a bit OCD about checking the Connect app...so that will be a change for me. It's like my kids and snapchat. Also looks like I need to worry more about charging my phone than my car based on current app status screen...
Thanks for the response - good idea on reducing amperage (I have mine set up at 40A in both the locations I charge on 50A circuits). I also have concerns about putting an indoor/lightweight car cover (have the Porsche one from Suncoast) on with the MCC plugged in. The engineer in me doesn't love...
Question related to long(er) term storage (1 month+) - leave traction charger plugged in, or no? Porsche sales guy said yes, but that makes me oddly nervous. As someone mentioned, I haven't seen much drain off the 85% target when left for a few days, so I imagine the drain over month+ would be...
Agreed. I have top-end B&O setup in an Audi S7 and the Burmester sound is a upgrade. I got lucky in that I wasn’t planning to spec it in my Taycan build, but ended up taking delivery of a car someone else had spec’d with the Burmester option and I’m very happy with it. To be sure it isn’t...
Happy coincidence that we had just ripped out a hot tub at the house, so had a free 50A circuit out of 400A service. Ran that to garage and put in the 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet for the mobile charger connect. Same setup at autoplex (where the car spends some of it's time). Have one of the...
Well, yes- it is possible the Americans are all forgetting to turn off their cars. :). Seriously, though, I suppose it could be that simple....Don’t hold down the button until the cute little taillight graphic goes off, and your 12V system might stay on and drain itself. I would think, though...
According to local Porsche service folks I don’t have any outstanding updates on my VIN. Although I wouldn’t say I am enthralled with their level of Taycan service knowledge. I took remote delivery of mine from OH dealer - they did do an update on arrival from Germany before shipping to...
Ok- been scanning other threads and think I have at least a potential cause for my 12V battery drain/shutdown. I was merrily deleting profiles on my app in the evening while the Taycan was plugged in. I had set some profiles up...but with a timer set up every day for 85% at 7:00am via mobile...
Hello! Just joined as well...enjoying new Turbo S while also wanting to get feedback on 12V battery issue - great forum - appreciate the commentary so far.
Ah, ok - that makes sense. I’ll post what I hear back from local dealer. I believe they have 1 guy that has all the Taycan training...the other folks seem far less knowledgeable.
My issue is that the cord is hanging down, and doesn't retract? Maybe user error on my part.
The service manager told me it would be covered, but that they needed to order a new one. I will talk to them either tomorrow or next week. Either way, not currently impacting driving or...
