Watch and phone don't sync preferences (yet!); they're both essentially completely standalone apps, which is intentional but does require that I build intentional synchronization mechanisms between both apps.
Ah! Does the app work ok for the ICE vehicle? I don’t have one and haven’t been able to test the app much with it. I’d be curious to see what kind of data about the car could be surfaced in the app; does the My Porsche app show fuel levels?
But I’ve also noted your feature requests. Hiding and...
All good :) I think I’m going to add a guides section to the https://electricsidecar.app website and within the app because there’s quite a few flows on iOS that aren’t super obvious (like the fact that you can pick which vehicle a given widget is showing info for on iOS by tapping the widget...
Yep! There’s a small phone widget form factor. If you’re not seeing it, sometimes you have to delete the app and reinstall it for iOS to pick up the new widget.
So far this only applies to the charge widget. I’m planning to make this color setting apply to anywhere that battery levels are shown. Preference sync between watch and phone hasn’t been built yet but is also on the roadmap :) For now you’ll have to configure it separately.
Working on addressing it as we speak :D
Thanks all who've submitted feedback with one-off decoding errors. They've now been fixed and will go out in the next release.
Here's a WIP of the charge widget color customization UX:
v1.3-2 is now out with a new charge history view within the app. This new feature uses the data your phone and watch already gather to show a historical view of the state of your vehicle. To start, the chart just supports your battery level + charging state.
Works on your watch:
And your...
I called Porsche technical support and they confirmed there's a known outage with My Porsche and the backend APIs. They expect it to be resolved within 24 hours.
Hey all! A few updates :D
I'm working on getting official access to the Porsche APIs so that Electric Sidecar is something that I can feel confident in the app's long-term stability. As-is, the use of the unofficial APIs means things could break at any time without much warning, and I'd prefer...
Yes but currently you need to do so via the Porsche.com website. I plan to expose the ability to edit the vehicle name from electric sidecar eventually, but for now use Porsche.com
Oh! If you have any data on that I’d love to improve the polling mechanism in the app. I’m still trying to figure out which parts of the API affect the activation state of the vehicle and I suspect there’s optimizations that can be made.
I've confirmed a bug in the captcha flow. Working on a fix. In the meantime, the only known semi-consistent workaround is to try logging in from a browser on the same device.
