  1. Hopelessly confused by power requirements of Porsche mobile charger

Well yes this is not just related to my original question but is exactly my question! Our grid is the same as NA and most homes are 120/240. Except we are opposite a huge house that has 3 phase 120/208 and we hook up to the same transformer. I have a 14-50 socket with 120/208. It appears there...
  2. May 2021... any UK owners taken delivery in the last few months?

My UK spec 4s is half way across the Atlantic and I'm trying to sort out my charging situation. It seems there are a number of Porsche Mobile Charger Connect specs all with the same part number. Bit of an ask I know but can anyone who has taken UK delivery in the last couple of months take a...
  3. Hopelessly confused by power requirements of Porsche mobile charger

Yep, think I have to wait and see what it comes with. I guess I can always buy a "wall charger connect" and hard wire it if it's not going to connect. I could slap the muppet that put a 3ph transformer on this street. Such a PITA! Many thanks for your comments.
  4. Hopelessly confused by power requirements of Porsche mobile charger

For the same part number!! never had this problem with my 964s!
  5. Hopelessly confused by power requirements of Porsche mobile charger

Ah. Well that's a bit of a spanner in the works and explains some of my confusion. However, THIS, Mobile charge connect manual says 208/240... PMCC Manual I guess there are now 2 Mobile Chargers? My car is coming new from the UK; no idea what charger it's coming with!
  6. Hopelessly confused by power requirements of Porsche mobile charger

No you were right the first time. Even searching for wall charger connect manual I couldn't find it... have to add search term "208V" for Google to find the wall charger manual...
  7. Hopelessly confused by power requirements of Porsche mobile charger

Good news is the 14/50 pigtail does terminate the Neutral wire as per your Wye diagram. L1 comes out top right, L2 bottom right and earth central at the charger end... no idea if this is what the charger is expecting though. Plug it in and see if it melts I guess... Not too worried about...
  8. Hopelessly confused by power requirements of Porsche mobile charger

Thank you, I'll read the rest of the manual. Yes I (nervously) measured the voltages myself. I also checked the voltage between earth and Neutral was zero and checked continuity and they are connected so it does indeed look like the Wye configuration in the wall charger manual.
  9. Hopelessly confused by power requirements of Porsche mobile charger

Thank you. Yes possibly. Would need to ensure my Neutral is earthed at the panel and possibly disconnect Neutral at the plug I think. Earth top, L1, L2 either side and N at bottom. I already have the 14-50 "pigtale" to the charger. I guess I could do a continuity test to confirm where "XYZ"...
  10. Hopelessly confused by power requirements of Porsche mobile charger

Yeah they don't make it easy to find! Porsche wall charger connect - operating and installation manual
  11. Hopelessly confused by power requirements of Porsche mobile charger

Stupidly my house has 120/208V power. My 4S is in a container mid-Atlantic so I have a few weeks to get everything in order . The first thing I see in the "Porsche Mobile Charger Connect" manual is that it is only to be used with one phase... hmm, ok so then I check in the "Porsche Wall Charger...
  12. Arghhhh! Accidentally forgot to black out window surrounds...

I just got the standard silver 4s wheels with the strange black webbed bits; to be honest I didn't really like any of the wheel options but looking at some of the photos kindly posted above I think the chrome might be ok with the standard wheel. I'm a bit more optimistic about it now! :)
  13. Arghhhh! Accidentally forgot to black out window surrounds...

Many thanks for so many replies to put my mind at ease! I guess there's nothing to do but wait now and see what it looks like. The Taycan is one of those cars that looks so much better in the flesh anyway. Good to know a small area like that can be wrapped though; never wrapped anything before...
  14. Arghhhh! Accidentally forgot to black out window surrounds...

After agonising over spec for ever and a day I just noticed I forgot to black out the window surrounds. Way too late to change spec now as the car's already in a container on it's way to me! Car is volcano gray with pano roof and now I'm wondering if I can live with it, or if it even might look...
  15. Opinions on pano glass roof in sunny climates?

Fantastic. Thanks all for your thoughts.
  16. Opinions on pano glass roof in sunny climates?

Thank you Damien. Yes I'm sold on the benefits of the roof I'm just worried it will be too much in the sun; it's not like Northern Europe here, think more like North Africa! Sadly there are only 2 other Taycans on island so far and they are both metal so a test drive isn't an option.
  17. Opinions on pano glass roof in sunny climates?

I can't decide on speccing the glass roof or not.. I'd like to but I live in the Caribbean and I'm worried the interior is going to fry when left out in the sun. UV kills everything here! Does anyone have the glass roof in Florida or similar? How is it? Many thanks.... last item before ordering! :)
  18. Taycan 4s base vs. PTV plus

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. Strange how Porsche are so opaque as to the difference. To be honest once I spec it up a 4S it's only about 20 grand less than a turbo... seems a bit cheap not to!
  19. Taycan 4s base vs. PTV plus

I'm really struggling to find out what the difference is between a 4S with PTV Plus and without. I can't believe for a second that the base car has an open rear diff so I assume it has either an LSD or an open diff plus electronically controlled individual braking of each wheel to replicate a...
