    High Temperature Battery Performance

Drove hard (90mph sustained on I5) in 118 degrees. Car never went above 95 degree battery temp. Charging went to about 120. It was fine

Update 3: Porsche jabbing brakes and stopping [Driver Control required!] while not in Innodrive/ACC/ALK

Haha now im getting the Park Assist Disabled, Service Required errors every day! Dude, guys, I want to like this car and I love how it drives... but I'm just at a total loss. On the plus side this is a loggable error I can share with the SA

Considerations when driving Taycan in extreme heat?

Just did SF to LA round trip with temps topping out over 118 for a 6 hour trip. No issues the battery is fine up to 145 and going 80-90 mph the temp stays around 93 the entire time. During charging battery was at 125 or so and the fans were going hard. Cooled off after getting going again...

Update 3: Porsche jabbing brakes and stopping [Driver Control required!] while not in Innodrive/ACC/ALK

Pretty much this. It won’t log and I’m tired of taking this to the dealership every two weeks for the latest errors. im at a loss and doing interviews with the NHTSA to see what comes of the investigation

Update 3: Porsche jabbing brakes and stopping [Driver Control required!] while not in Innodrive/ACC/ALK

Yea I noticed my sensor for my hands required a TON more feedback compared to my X7 where I just have to rest my hands. I basically have to jiggle it to get it to react when I have Innodrive on. Are others able to just use it with a light touch? Or do you have to constantly be giving it...

    Driver Control Required message

Just discovered this thread, had it happen 7-10 times on a round trip SF to LA.

Update 3: Porsche jabbing brakes and stopping [Driver Control required!] while not in Innodrive/ACC/ALK

Negative, this was not crash avoidance. This was the error that comes on during self-driving when your hands are off the wheel for too long. My only other idea is that there is an attention management system that is using the same error message if it thinks im not paying attention?

Update 3: Porsche jabbing brakes and stopping [Driver Control required!] while not in Innodrive/ACC/ALK

Earlier it was rough but there are now 6! new stations on I-5 and its pretty much no issue. Even if you have a problem now at one station you can just go on to the next one as they are close enough. Only major recommendation is avoid Harris ranch, slow and overcrowded charging. SF to LA --...

Update 3: Porsche jabbing brakes and stopping [Driver Control required!] while not in Innodrive/ACC/ALK

I took a long roadtrip from SF to LA to finally declare my Taycan safe for my family if there were no more motor control issues. I also had made a promise to my brother we'd have a drink at Hotel Bel Air after it opened. So I went down Friday day, had that drink, and drove back Saturday...

Is it just me, or did your Taycan come with an unrequested, always-on tracking device called StarGard?

Every vehicle from Porsche Marin has this spyware installed as well.

Are the passenger doors mechanical or electric?

If they are electric is there an emergency override for the locks if the car is dead and you are inside?

    Rear facing baby seats?

    Rear facing baby seats?

I use the Maxi Cosi and the seat angle is a it of a problem, but just put a few blankets under the front of the seat and it will tilt to the right angle. It's no issue now.

UPDATE4: NHTSA Investigation interview -- WMA5 update removed Innodrive on 2020 4S. Later, engine dies on way to getting it fixed.

Today I got an email interview from the NHTSA and gave them a report of what happened. I informed them that I had already told them the care was unsafe but Porsche NA refused to look at it or solve the issue and two weeks later the car stalled on a dangerous section of Highway 1.

NHTSA investigating Taycan power loss issue

Had my first NTHSA interview today. I told them the story I've shared here on the failure and outlined that I had gone to the dealership and told them the car had issues and they told me to 'deal with it'

Day after purchasing Taycan 4S Electrical system error and bricked car in the middle of the highway.

that’s both an unfair and frankly dangerous statement to make to imply I would be lying about this incident. It is real and puts drivers at risk. In New York you do not likely have roads like highway 1. I was driving between the headlands and Stinson beach going southbound. This is a blind...

Condensation under Taycan leaving a puddle

gotten the same specifically when charging or high powered charging. Tested to make sure it was water. I guess it’s hot air condensate

Day after purchasing Taycan 4S Electrical system error and bricked car in the middle of the highway.

"extra dramatic". This bug almost sent a vehicle with my family in it entirely off a cliff on highway 1. Please consider that a situation you may not have experienced is not just people begin 'extra dramatic.' I know we all love our cars, but this is not drama. This is a very real, growing...
