Surely with HP, you get the same benefits as an outright purchase (like 100% First Year Allowance) but the additional cost of borrowing the money? While the interest might not be huge, all things being equal, HP would still make it more expensive overall than buying outright?
I aimed to go in...
Hang on, if you purchase the car and use the FYA, don't you have to pay the VAT? So the £90K remains £90K? I'm confused, which is pretty easy in this case.
The update today is that the build of the car will be complete on January 20th, which is under 6 weeks after the order was placed. I don't know how long the rest of the delivery process takes after that, any ideas? :S
Absolutely worth considering.
I believe, and I could be wrong, that HP counts as a purchase, which is why you can claim the 100% First Year Allowance (FYA). But because it is counted as a purchase, you wouldn't be able to claim the VAT in that case (just like if you purchased the car)...
My accountant said to be safe it should be 31st March this year, as while the extension was announced in the budget, it hasn't passed into law yet(?) or been reflected on the HMRC website. I imagine they've had more important things to update with regards to COVID and Brexit.
I...
Hey Marty,
I'm also director of a limited company I majority own and I was asking myself a lot of the same questions as you last December. I was fully down for the company to lease the car and take advantage of the BIK advantages, where I normally just lease privately.
While I'm not entirely...
Hmm, I ordered my Taycan Turbo in mid-December from Colchester. They offered me a January build slot if I moved quickly, otherwise, I was told February. I went for January and they are still saying it'll be here before the end of March. Seems like I was lucky, although reading previous posts I'm...
I see Porsche already did one, although I don't like the matt black or the hella bright red.

Hey all,
I've been thinking of wrapping my Taycan Turbo when it arrives (for protection) but got a little carried away with this idea.
Do you think I would likely regret doing this to the car pretty quickly? Never done it before, not really sure how wise it is.
I'm a Turbo, rather than a Turbo S, just like you @Norfolkporsche. The Turbo S was rather beyond my means. I'm planning to charge on my drive too, just like the idea of having a more rapid charger so close.
Got my Taycan Turbo on order too, and worried about this issue. I drive maybe once or twice a week at most, with my car often sitting on the drive for up to 10 days without use. It would suck if there is something else I need to consider here.
Congrats @CarolineK - looks lovely. I can't wait to get my first Porsche! :)
I'm surprised there are so many Norfolk people here! :) What colour will your Turbo S be @Norfolkporsche? There is definitely a Gentian Blue Turbo S in Norfolk/Norwich too. Do we know if the new Porsche Centre Norwich...
That would be great! My partner and I love visiting that neck of the woods, I'm actually from Fakenham, so I have a lot of fond childhood memories in Cromer. Hoping to get married at Holkham next August, if COVID permits it.

Hey all, I'm Josh from Norfolk in the UK (hey @Norfolkporsche, where are you? I'm in Norwich). I ordered a Carrara White with Black/Bordeaux Red (and FAR too many options ?) Taycan Turbo from Porsche Colchester a couple of weeks ago. January build for delivery before the end of March...
Thanks for the help @Persuader and @RG2020. Can't wait for the Taycan! It sounds like the 100% First Year Allowance is going to work out best (providing the car arrives in time), as there is the tax saving, and then the saving on the interest of HP & PCP? Hopefully, Taycan residuals will be...
Hey all,
Not that I don't believe my accountants, but I'm worried that in all the conversations I've not fully understood the situation (too excited to get my first Porsche, and first electric car). Everyone here seems way more versed on this subject than I am so I wondered if you could give me...
