It is reassuring to see that they can relatively easy replace HV battery modules. And that these modules are not very expensive.
I am curious about the time it takes to replace this.
If it is like one week of labour + 1000 euro for the battery module, fixing the HV battery shouldn't be more...
Indeed. I have the same feeling.
It shows Porsche does not take software quality serious.
For me it is one of the reasons to not buy a Porsche again. It is my first Porsche. I am happy with it. And I will keep it for many years. But it will also be my last Porsche. The general quality level is...
The Porsche app is clearly much worse than the Tesla app.
Half of the time, the info in the Porsche app is outdated. There is a fundamental problem with how it gets its info from the car.
With the Telsa app you could even easily track the car's location in real time.
To make sure I understand it well:
If you don't take "Porsche Charging Service", you don't get the Porsche charging card and you do not get the ionity discount.
But I assume you can still register for plug&charge with other provider ? I know this is possible with for example FastNed. So you...
Difference between Tesla and Taycan:
The Tesla app actually works and gives you up to date view of your car most of the time.
For example: You can track the location of a moving Tesla quite acuratly.
With Porsche the app updates when it wants. Sometimes you do get a up to date info. Sometimes not.
I don't know how to solve it once you bought it from the factory.
But I heard that if you do not tick the option from the factory, you can buy it and enable it with FunctionOnDemand. And disable it again.
So maybe a recommendation for future buyers: buy this option via FoD.
Myself, I did not...
I am wondering how well the Taycan will age. And how long it is expected to last without too much fundamental problems.
Anybody having a Taycan with very high mileage on it that can share his/her experience ?
As far as I know, there was an issue with the batteries in early 2020 Turbo and Turbo S Taycan's.
It uses another chemistry that causes a faster decline in state of health.
They changed it in later models. You find more info in the thread about battery state of health statistics.
So probably...
Yes indeed.
I am driving an EV for 3 years now.
3 years ago I was clear that a Tesla had a big advantage with the supercharging network.
There were still gaps in my typical holiday routes using non-tesla chargers.
Today, 3 years later, you have an abundant amount of fast chargers in western...
I typically try to arrive below 10%.
I optimise my arrival state of charge by adapting my speed.
For example: The car says that I will arrive with 8% state of charge, then I speed up. If it says below 4%, I slow down.
That way I try to arrive at about 5% state of charge.
Since I am typically...
Do you only have charging problems at home ? Or also elsewhere ?
If it is only at home: check your voltage.
Or try to charge at 50%.
The Taycan stops charging if the voltage gets too low and gives a charging error without additional info.
In some locations the grid voltage can fluctuate.
About the remarks about the complexity to link the Tesla account to your credit card. Maybe this is interesting to mention:
Chargemap recently launched an integration between their charging card (that can be used in almost all CSS chargers) and the Tesla superchargers in France...
