My heater died yesterday.
I thought my car was safe. ☹️
It’s an early GTS. Delivered May 2022. I thought my heater was one of the newer ones and I have not had any recall. Essentially it’s more of a MY23 as it didn’t need the massive software upgrade but I think it is officially MY22
Anyone...
Looks like default setting is 25%.
Stupid as at least 50% of your journeys are to home where you have charging so why the **** would you need 25%.
Leave Porsche charge planning ticked. Too useful to me and I don’t want to forget to turn it back on.
Turn down minimum charge at destination to...
There is a setting in Nav that says
‘Required charge at destination’
This is default at about 20% I think.
I was 10 miles from home when I first got my car and the Sat Nav was trying to send me 10 miles beyond my house to charge for 20 mins and then drive 10 miles back home.
You need to set...
It is not the main reason but it is part of the big picture, like cheaper servicing, added to the huge tax incentives.
It is so sweet paying 3p per mile for fuel rather than 35p per mile.
I am Octopus too.
Ionity with the Porsche contract is only 4x the cost at 30p. Others are 10x the cost...
You are right.
it’s much cheaper.
I have done 50,000 electric miles in the last 4 years in Audi Etron and 2 Taycans.
Petrol is £7 a gallon in UK ($9ish!!)
20mpg in an RS6 would cost £17,500
99% of my Charging is at 7p per kw hr
Occasional Ionity 30p or even very occasional Shell at 70p...
200 is easy, even in the cold, especially if preheated, just back off the go pedal a bit!
(Heavy rain really effs this up with 21 in wheels. like driving a snowplough)
250 easy in summer (no rain)
Depends if you have destination charging. If I did I would definitely back off a bit, take 5 mins...
Ionity Perth is perfect if you are bombing it. Otherwise 190 miles is perfectly doable with NO charging unless driving like a hooligan!
Stay somewhere with free charging.
I am old enough to have driven lots of cars without A/C that never had drying air benefit.
The problem with ECO PLUS over ECO is the lack of warming which increases misting.
The compressor always stays off when I am hypermiling!
Cold day, zero precipitation, low humidity, traveling solo, zero...
Dont forget that the 2WD Taycan still has phenomenal speed off the line.
I drove one back to back with a GTS and the GTS really only pulls away noticeably
when speeds become illegal. (I was on a track)
No one talks about 0-30mph. This is real world speed and usability.
My favourite statistic...
To follow on from previous posts my battery % 40 and range 88 was the result of the guessometer after a real cruise.
I was heading to an Ionity and the car worked out I had enough range in RANGE but not in NORMAL
It was a cold morning and I was not plugged in so only did the 5 mins unlock...
It’s so variable. This is cruising/hypermiling in a GTS saloon last summer. With the stupid range sapping 21’ Spyders of course.
After 50% battery used,
mileage done 171.
28.4kw per 100 miles quite frugal!?
Predicted further range 142.
(I don’t understand either.
The algorithm probably...
Do you mean tyres? That is a tyre size
Suggests to me that is buying 4 front tyres!! - Less than useful!
Wheel size is
Front axle: 8.0 J × 19 ET 50
Rear axle: 10.0 J × 19 ET 47
