First Porsche Charging Lounge in Switzerland is now open - article

Yeah, but would you WANT to chat with a MACAN owner?!

Four years in - my best range number yet!

I always thought this estimate reflects recent efficiency. I typically don't look at overall range but more at the mi/kwh figure. For a j1.1 PB+ car, anything above 2.9 mi/kwh is materially above published estimates. On recent road trips, I was able to consistently achieve 2.8 - 3.2 mi/kwh...

"smart Level 2" = 75 miles of charge per hour?

My view is always to tier the pricing based on charging speed, even for A/C. Europe does this with HPCs. Got time to loiter? Pay less. Public AC charging is such a crap shoot with the amount of free units out there. They're either always occupied or abandonware.

    Option regrets ?

Pass/skip: 1. Passenger Display - had this in a larger loaner car (Macan), and wife still tended to use the center PCM. New version is shielded from driver. 2. HUD - too bright and distracting 3. PSCBs - while billed as a more cost effective long duration alternative to PCCBs, some owners...

Is there any Taycan morning drive event in Bay Area CA?

Yeah, we should definitely get a Taycan meet up soon. Seems like a few more new folks in the Bay area.

Interesting. The advertisement said it's a v4 site.

First Porsche Charging Lounge in Switzerland is now open - article

Is this the first v4 open to all cars? This might be the most notable. The themed Diner is cool, a gimmick, and with 24 hr service, quality will likely suffer in about 6 months.

    PSCB and rust on them?

Regarding ceramics, usage is up to 100k, so unless you purchase a car in that mileage range, buy with confidence

    New-to-me 2020 Taycan Turbo

Enjoy! For me the car has been issue free other than surround camera issue.

2024 new Taycan marked by dealer as used on Sale Contract

This is a very common practice by Porsche (and many other luxury brands). This is generally how the dealership and manufacturer business model works: 1. Dealerships are owned independently (or a network of owned by a corporation, e.g. Autonation) 2. Manufacturers allocate higher counts of...

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

#5 I'm guessing is trying to optimize total travel time. The phone app's charge planner does this too if it computes your total travel time to be materially lesser if you simply charge up to say 60% at high speeds. This is the case if you're traveling through areas with ample HPCs and high...

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

#4 has never been reliable in the US. Even for Porsche Charging Services (Electrify America, i.e. our version of Ionity). There's at least a 5 minute delay in the data, which renders the feature impractical if you're trying to gauge whether you will be able to charge immediately at arrival...

Taycan Turbo GT tops Car & Driver's DC fast-charge test

yawn. I think Lucid may be quicker on average, but this is the new arms race with EVs IMO, not necessarily range. Have everyone noticed that many times we arrive at a DCFC as your neighbors are charging at 30%-50% range, and when we're finished at 85% and leaving, they're still at 75% charging...

2900-km trip: northern New England and Atlantic Provinces, July 2025

Tesla is so not ready to host Porsche. That's an atrocious parking alignment and luckily the station wasn't full. But man if during preplanning stages of a trip indicated making multiple 50kw-100kw DCFCs, that would cause me to rethink about taking the Taycan. NE Canada is a decade behind in...

    Roof Rack for sedan?

i learned the t-bolts for the rail sometimes vary in size depending on how old the Thule accessory is. Just FYI, this would mean t-bolts may be too large for the rail, or slightly too small and therefore creaks/rattles when there's stress on the unit. that said, I do the same thing. I...

New Video Adding Passenger Display Fairly easily

my Macan EV loaner has the passenger display. I'm glad I'm able to test it out on a loaner as I initially conceded in not having this option when I purchased my Taycan. I have to say this option is more of a party trick and have low practical functionality. My wife who sits in the passenger...

Retrofit: GTS Sport Turismo Rear Bike Carrier (NG1)

This is the correct equipment (bracket and harness). You'll need to install the bracket onto the impact bar. I'm uncertain if it needs coding. Again, I'm not certain a harness can be retrofitted. Take care picture of your driver side bumper with cover off
