The good news is that there is no sheet metal damage to either car. I reread the WBA section of Good to Know today; WBA does not work when the car is in reverse. So, I didn't miss a WBA warning and the backup sensors did trigger an alert, I just didn't respond it time.
Unfortunately, WBA didn't stop me from backing my Taycan into my wife's Macan.
With only 700 miles on my new car, and still overcoming old habits of backing my 2007 Turbo, relying on its great rear visability, I'm not accustomed to backing while staring at the center display. So, I was looking...
Is WBA or any other Taycan systems designed to stop the car and prevent the driver from backing into a solid object like a wall or another car (other than the audible and visual warnings from the parkin alert)?
No, it does not drop down as it still thinks that it is off-road. I've assigned the Homelink to the diamond button on the dash. It operates flawlessly with the exception of the GPS setting.
I expected to have some problems with a new car that was this technologically advanced, so a few trips to the shop hasn't been a surprise. I love the car, but I'm disappointed that Porsche doesn't seem to be able to fix them quickly. I think that the service techs need more training, and Porsche...
I had a similar.problem in my MY204S. With about 600 miles on the car both the upper and lower PCM displays went out. Occasionally they would come on momentarily, but they were out 99% of the time.
I took it to the dealer. Initially, they suspected a faulty PCM module but needed Porsche's...
I would only be using the phone in a vertical orientation, too. If it's not too much of an imposition, I'd appreciate it if you would please take a picture of the phone from the drivers line of sight.
Thank you for posting the pictures. Why did you decide on the left side vs right? Does it block the view of the lower PCM display from the driver's perspective when mounted on the left?
Thank you for posting the pictures. It is a very clean and seemingly well engineered design. Out of curiosity, why did you choose not to include inductive charging?.
Thank you. Please post some pictures of how the cradle and phone are positioned on the center column and where you run the power after you have it set up.
Update:
After 9 days at the shop with the mechanic trying to find a phantom wiring problem, my service writer told me yesterday that he received approval from Porsche to replace the PCM module. That's the good news, the bad news is that the part had to be ordered from Germany and it will the...
To clarify, is your cradle passive or does it have an inductive charger in the base? If so, where does it get its power?
I am also an Android user and want access to my phone. The other issue I have with the arm rest charging cradle is that I always forget to take my phone when leaving the...
