Hi gang,
in case you're heading up and down the I5 corridor, here's part one of my experience with charging with a few extras thrown in. I had just picked the car up in Ontario. Largely EA putting my full faith in the Porsche Intelligent Route Planner. 1,230 miles in total. And only one fast...
I've driven Taycans with and without it. I like it a lot. It's great for low speed parking to maneuverability. My CPO 4S has the Performance Package and the combination of kit makes for a very satisfying car to drive.
FWIW, my electrician was adamant that the charger must be hard wired in. He says he's seen too many where the plug has gone bad, a potential fire hazard. And buy a name brand unit. Lectron, ChargePoint etc.
Ha! I learned
Ha! That's interesting. Mine was an extra $1,100 annually for a Turbo. I learned this lesson years ago when I came THIS close to buying a Scirocco one evening. The sales person in a fatherly way said, "go home and check with your insurance company in the morning, I'll hold the...
I nearly pulled the trigger on a Turbo and checked with my insurance company first. The difference between a 4S and Turbo was significant. But yeah, someone got a steal.
FWIW, I just road-tripped up I5 from Ontario, CA to Seattle and EA was flawless. All terminals at all locations I charged at were working. Plug and Charge made it easy.
That’s the one where I take it up a forest service trail if I remember correctly. I nearly bought a Cross Turismo, but I’m just a sucker for the sedan. Anyways, hope I helped in someway. That’s kind of the point of the videos!
I actually briefly looked at a Turbo. That stopped after I checked with my insurance company. For some reason, there’s a very large jump from the 4S to the Turbo when it comes to coverage. And I’m guessing they wouldn’t even consider insuring a Turbo S.The insurance rep even said if I had an...
I just bought a CPO 4S and the original owner ordered it de-badged. Then they installed "Turbo S" badging. The first thing I asked the dealer was if they could be removed without damaging the paint. Do. Not. Upbadge.
As an automotive writer, I've driven nearly every flavor of Taycan available. Even the Cross Turismo prototype. So I'm happy to share I can join the ranks of the forum for real. My 2021 4S in Carrera White Metallic originally MSRPed for $164K. I got it for just under $75K. So if you're lurking...
I'm still fishing for a CPO 4S and found one with the PP. I love the idea of rear steering and torque vectoring but wonder about complexity and maintenance. Any owners with experience? Thanks!
Yes, this is the kind of vehicle that almost requires additional coverage seeing it pretty much needs to be serviced at the dealer. Thanks for your insight.
Hi all, as I inch closer to a CPO Taycan, curious if anyone has added the extra year of warranty coverage in the US. How much was it? Is price negotiable? Does it need to be done at the time of purchase from where the car is bought? Thanks!
Are you talking about the difference in battery size? There's the Performance Battery (79.2kWh) and Performance Plus (93.4kWh). Or could be that Porsche adjusted the range for real world use? At the start it was notorious for being extremely conservative about the range. 2025 models do have more...
Thanks everyone, if I get the car I'll be abandoning the switch. It's a very nice creature comfort but one I can live without considering the rest of the build. Cheers!
