Seems like many members have issues with the alarm, so I'm interested to see how common this problem really is, and if those who had it has got it fixed (please comment below).
Wow, strange that this problem is still popping up in new cars. I’m getting my Taycan 4CT this week, how can I avoid this problem? Is the problem activated right when I activate my Porsche ID?
What issue is there to report? I believe it is just as you described, just that they forgot to deactivate it for the US market, same would happen if they allowed cars with matrix LED feature to be imported.
This is not a real problem, just a feature that contradicts with US legislation. It is a normal feature in other markets. The News is a bit misleading, its purpose is to avoid accidents.
This is quite variable, eg. here in Finland the Taycan is half the price of a 911 because of CO2 based purchase tax. You can guess what models are sold here most (EV/PHEV have lowest CO2 emissions).
The car will look quite different with a dark color vs a light color. Do you have panorama roof? Without panorama I think ICE gray looks nice, with panorama or the CT model I would go with a darker color (eg. Gentian Blue) to soften the contrasting design details.
Thats a tough decision. Getting a MY21 car in 2022 doesn’t seem right, would probably go with MY22. I would probably upgrade to a faster model if I reconfigured my order now (which would cost me a lot), so I really hope my MY21 order will be on schedule to arrive this month.
Stopping time is the same, and the normal brakes do not fade before your battery is empty. The PCCB does generate less brake dust, so less cleaning the wheels, otherwise no added benefit on an EV (except the look obviously).
Where are all the desirable EVs?? Only one that I drool at currently is Lotus Evija, all others are quite boring compared to the Taycan. Hope we get to see more cool EVs in the future. It shouldn’t be that if a car is full-EV then it has to look like a Prius or a family car.
The CT 4S is slower than the ugly big Telsa Model X Long Range, not sure if comparing 0-100km/h times is relevant with these EVs. The best option would be the Turbo S if you want to prioritize 0-100 times in your choice, but even that one is still slower than that big ugly Model X Plaid!
I...
Here the pricing is approx.: Panamera 4 e-hybrid ST 127k€, Panamera 4 ST 166k€, Taycan 4 CT 100k€. Options are also cheaper on EV (less tax according to CO2 emissions).
