Given that this is an immature technology I fully expect the improvements to continue at a steep rate for the next couple of decades, although those with an engineering background would be better positioned to opine on that than me. As such I did consider leasing a new car, having previously...
The GOM would adjust to recent driving history, so if they'd been canning it you'l see low predicted range, if they'd be trundling around a city you'd see high range. Ignore it.
I was told by a dealer that battery capacity is increasing to 107 and that there would be new, more efficient motors which all in would lead to a range improvement of approx 25%. Seems to chime with the current marketing blurb re the new Macan.
I've just installed the recharge certificate on the ID.3 to enable plug and charge, we'll see if that works. Also installed a certificate for Octopus but not sure it runs the 2 at once (seemed to deactivate the Octopus after I installed the WeCharge certificate.
Fun and games
Just read PPE platform will store certificates used when the car handshakes with the charger, speeding it up for the next time.
You see, give the engineers a problem and they'll solve it :)
Thanks, I'm afraid I've gone down to the "checking the hardware" level on this stuff, Alpitronic hardware seems bullet proof, ABB and Tritium used to be but don't seem to have stood the test of time. Free2X (I think they're owned by the group that own the Autostrada are putting in Alpitronic's...
Evening all,
Thanks for the thoughts ... just back from the school run (took the ID.3 for the "experience" but that's another thread) and parked up next to a coupe in the Sainsbury's car park, blimey they're long ! Nice new Shell chargers in Loghborough, BP at Cranley in Kettering had some poor...
On the phone to a CPO call centre while they reboot a charger at night in the driving rain and I might disagree. But yeah, as cars they're in a different class, which I guess is what makes it an interesting dilema , you can get a nice GT / sports car (second hand) or a mid size saloon that just...
Yeah, I modded mine with KW springs and Mountain Pass Performance camber arms, seemed to improve turn in and it feels "flatter". Apparently the Highland is softer. Potentially the new performance will have a very different suspension set up.
Hi All, looking for some advice and benefit of your experience please.
Currently have a Tesla Model 3 LR (sold a Cayman GTS to buy it), owned for 3 years 9 months and a VW ID.3 (don't get me started). Looking to replace the Tesla in the next 3 - 15 months, but it's not essential to.
Use...
Thanks, saw that at the top my thoughts were more off it'd be handy if it was in the (various) navigation systems. My wife and I *this tends to be a double hander when driving) tend to manually select v3's over v2's which you can ascertain by the listed output in the Tesla Nav. But v4's are (at...
I've had a look around but can't see any map indicating if a site is V4 or not, would be helpful to identify sites with longer cables, anyone else found anything ?
I spoke to a dealer recently who advised the facelift would have a 106kw battery and "improved efficiency" so something in the region of a 20% range efficiency at a guess.
I'm no engineer but it feels as if they are tweaking efficiency and density (look at the progression of the BMW i3 over...
I had my Cayman serviced at Colchester and they were fine. Come trade in though and they and the original dealer were awful (I believe this isn't unusual ). Offered me £34k, sold to an independent dealer for £51k.
