I guess it depends on who you get on the phone. My dealer has been great. When I contacted pcna, I got far less info - I got only the expected delivery with then 3 sentences of disclaimers, that the date probably will change, etc.
It is bad form to tell a customer what they want to hear...
I assume you mean May 15th? If so, that is news, since there hasn't been any update to the shipping website since week 10.
As for cancelling because this is frustrating, I understand, but unless you are going to buy a car off the lot, I don't know that any other company has better information...
thanks. Here's hoping that the portal wasn't updated and things are moving!
After 12 days in production, I have been in a storage lot since May 17th, before the shutdown, and the portal says not finishing until end of May with delivery in August.
BTW, don't know what you used, but there are free online tools that are really good at cutting down the size. I have used https://smallpdf.com/compress-pdf for example.
Porsche corporate doesn't require anything. That is totally the dealer's decision.
I would ask a salesperson specifically what is required, and then make a counter offer. Sometimes salespeople will imply or hint or say this is what some other guy just put down, etc.
Secondly, if you are up...
Hiya Ron,
Hope all is well.
My schedule hasn't changed for a while, right now in mid August for delivery, but that seems to assume that my partially completed car is not going to be done until end of May which seems a bit conservative.
FYI, since my delivery moved out so much, my dealer was...
Thanks. That is a totally reasonable position. I expect 0, but asked since I heard about it - but most likely an internet rumor spurred by a wish.
Take care!
Thanks for posting! Hopefully you won't be deluged with questions about "when will my Taycan show up?"
On another note, I read on the internet (so it must be true!) that Porsche may have a "delay compensation package" for buyers who have had their ordered delay a lot? Rumor was that there...
The shipping schedule for VW out of Emden has not been updated since week 10 (3/5/20), so my guess is that they don't have any ships planned for the next several weeks.
The Panamera also comes in this color and a dealer is more likely to have that than a taycan to look at
I saw one and made up my mind to get it. Best to look at it outside vs the lighting in a showroom.
I have a red car now and under some fluorescent lighting in a parking lot it can look...
I appreciate you efforts to finding out. My car started production on 3/5 and now is not getting done untll 5/30 and who knows when it gets shipped. Would have preferred it didn't start production.
maybe there aren't enough cars to load up a ship? or they don't have the staff working to do whatever is necessary for the shipping process.
Looking at the shipping schedule, there does not seem to be any update since week 10.
