I don’t see any big problem with Porsche trying to please it’s high end customers first. It is a good business practice. The few that opt for the highest priced Taycan will be a small percentage of total orders. At this point the customers who put down deposits did not know what levels were to...
A few of the concept drawings showed some pretty unusual front seats. Has anyone viewed a Taycan picture with those same seats or will they look more standard as in other Porsche’s ?
Along the main corridors in Texas such as I-10 which runs East to West from the Louisiana border to El Paso, and between main cities such as Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Dallas, Electrify America already has charging stations lined up at adequate distances.
The problem is the rest of the...
Ron, Are you buying a 100k+ car to drive to commute to work every day? :) If so my hat is off to you!
I would think that those of you that live in colder climates would be more concerned about range than others...
I do not think folks from countries that are physically smaller understand limited mileage in larger areas. It is not only the time having to recharge 2-3 times in one day. It is also the fact that driving in areas that are larger entail that a quick charger is 150-200 miles off one’s route. A...
May not be answerable on the Taycan since we have not driven one yet. On a really sharp curve at a higher speed does the front end or rear end usually loose tire traction first? Or is this even predictable at all?
I wonder how Porsche will train mechanics on the battery systems/ electric motors/ computers on the Taycan? Do they send them to Germany or have roaming instructors give classes in different countries? Seems to me this will be some totally different training than the older “wrench” type...
With all the speculation on minuscule details on the Taycan exterior I wish Porsche would have put some decent fins on the rear of the mules to really get folks upset! Then again I am married to a German and fully realize they have no sense of humor......:)
My local Porsche dealership just added a button/link to their front page to “Order A Taycan”. They also in their write up state over 300 miles per charge and that if you opt for the 800v system you can recharge to 80% in 15 minutes. Are they just clueless or know facts we have not received yet...
The newer mileage figures being leaked out for the Taycan do not work for me. Our distances here in Texas are long and for a 100k+ plus car I expect a range of at least 300 miles to be practical. I do not like the fit and finish of the Tesla brand, and all the comments on their site from...
There are dozens of sites with information on charging at home and on the road. I will use the set up at home that is NOT permanently attached to a wall, rather a unit that plugs into a 220v/40amp wall plug. That way I can take the small unit with me on the road with adapter in case I need to...
I have to agree with Vim. At this stage of the game right before the reveal I doubt that Porsche would let the Internet blogger Jonny Smith take the Taycan up to 125 mph over 20 times with fake panels on the car. One could see a few pieces of black tape but I believe the final design is now no...
