Taycan ACC Retrofit - DIY how-to install instructions

They used to do that but not on the Taycan it seems. With my Cayman they retrofitted cruise control and an external audio connection. They will also replace the standard audio/CD with the Porsche PCM+.

Taycan ACC Retrofit - DIY how-to install instructions

They did it in a day. Dropped it off in the morning, spend a nice day in Bristol and picked it up in the afternoon. Doesn’t seem to have affected the warranty. The car has been in for recall and warranty work with Porsche since and its not been mentioned. It was all genuine Porsche parts...

Taycan ACC Retrofit - DIY how-to install instructions

I had someone do the same install for me. Only cost me a couple of hundred dollars more than your component costs and I didn’t have the worry of all that wiring to sort out and a PIWIS to find. ACC and ALK work fine but haven’t been able to get Innodrive working. Have you had any success...

OPCs to put chargers outside the gates

No, AFAIK there are only two. One is in Stuttgart and I guess the other is in Nyon. I thought the same as you initially but when I looked into it there was only the one in Stuttgart at the time

OPCs to put chargers outside the gates

That’s not going to happen anytime soon at my local PCO. The gate is right on the road entrance and the chargers are at the furthest point from it. So they are going to have to move the gate, build some fencing and move the chargers to do that. I don’t use it that often though as it’s only...

OPCs to put chargers outside the gates

I thought there were only two charging lounges and both in Germany.

Navigation systeem hanging and crashing regularly, common issue?

Happens on mine all the time - reboots every 10-15 mins while driving. The solution is Google Maps through CarPlay.

Problems with the active lane assist & cruise control on 2025 Taycan

Had similar on mine and it just needed a couple of sensors cleaning. One in the big round one in the front central panel underneath the numberplate and the other is on the windscreen in front of the rear view mirror. Having those dirty threw up loads of different faults intermittently and at...

    Active Ride failure

As anyone who has had a Range Rover can tell you, air springs do fail too as they get older.

    Active Ride failure

Just wondering whether rather than the Active Ride damper its the associated air spring that has gone. Not on a Taycan but had an air spring failure on a Range Rover and it went very bouncy. Also when you first move the car is uses the air springs while the Active Ride dampers power up

What is the future of the Taycan? -"The development of the planned new platform for electric vehicles in the 2030s will be rescheduled."

I’m rather hoping with small numbers sold and the pull back from EVs that my Taycan will become a collectable classic. 🤞😉

What is the future of the Taycan? -"The development of the planned new platform for electric vehicles in the 2030s will be rescheduled."

It needs a totally different mapping platform for China and I doubt they have the data access to do PID.

    Apple CarKey and Carplay Ultra

Pity they don’t allow the mapping in the central display in place of the Porsche one too.

    Apple CarKey and Carplay Ultra

You are always going to need a physical key to open the car when the car 12V or your iPhone battery has gone flat.

    Apple CarKey and Carplay Ultra

The power button is there on my Taycan but I rarely use it as the car starts up as soon as I get in with the key. I only use it to shut the car down at the end.

"Everyone is writing off the new wave of high-performance Chinese EVs – here's why that's a big mistake" - article

Remember when they laughed at Toyota because it couldn’t get up to speed on a highway entry ramp? Will be the same with Chinese EVs. The West dropped the ball on EVs while Tesla trained lots of Chinese in how to build an EV at their Chinese factory. Used to be that virtually all the cars...

How @^#@(##))_$(_@)$(# long does it take to get a new battery in North America?!?!?

Unfortunately that is not a correct reading of the link. What that says is if your are TEMPORARILY importing or exporting something to get it repaired you don’t need to pay the taxes and tariffs on sending it out of or bringing it back into the USA. But then goes on to say if you are...

Can you beat this consumption reading?

Yes, echoes of the hypermilers when the Prius first came out. But it’s a Porsche. Drive it like a Porsche should be driven and if you need to recharge a few miles earlier, so be it. If you want to recharge less frequently there are plenty of other EVs out there that would do rather than...

Can you beat this consumption reading?

I’ve always found the range estimates to be pretty good.
