You might have mis-understood me. The thing that needs the MOST improvement in EVs are the batteries! Yes I am all for a 1000% improvement. It just isn't clear to me who will develop that faster. What is Porsche going to do when they have their factory and supply chain up and running using...
Major safety feature like this should be standard! I didn't even ask since I have many features and assumed it would be in one of them. I *think* "REAR Cross Traffic" is NOT available on the 2020. It is not in the manual. Only the useless "FRONT cross traffic" alert is there. ( have seen...
IMHO this is neither good nor bad. It remains to be seen why they think they can make better batteries than other companies that are already doing it. Hopefully they buy a company that already makes batteries so they don't have such a high learning curve. In the short run this will likely...
BTW one interesting fact I have not seen talked about is that electric cars get BETTER mileage at higher altitudes, unlike ICE cars. Simple fact that air is less dense so lower drag. I live at Sea Level, I always see much better than EPA on my 4S.
I bought and love Mamba Green! Yesterday I was at a Porsche show in San Diego, there were 2 white Taycans and mine. Far more people hovered around mine. See above about "witness protection"...lol On second thought, please don't buy Mamba Green, make mine stand out more
Sadly all these problems and long delay times show how poor the Porsche system design and upgrade capabilities are. I'm a realtime embedded software engineer, this upgrade is the type of upgrade many systems have been using for 40 years. For the dealer and user this could be as easy as...
From the article " Still, so far, so good: In the first quarter, Porsche delivered 9,072 Taycans worldwide. The number trailed sales of the long-running 911 by just 61 units. "
Personally I would like to see Apple buy Porsche, meld one of the best car manufacturers with one of the best software...
You asked for a wish list (engage engineer spec writing mode now). This is NOT in priority order:
Porsche sound:
It should have several settings:
Off
Volume control so you can make it louder/quieter stored as user preference.
Keep – Original spaceship noise
Noise Cancellation (Bose is...
I had this occur once, after an hour drive, but sitting at a stoplight. My dealer said they have seen this occasionally if the sun messed up the sensors. That was not the case for me, I was not facing into the sun, it was 10:27am. My house is on a road that twice per day you have to face...
My original point was, if it does some good at a particular position in range mode, why doesn't normal mode do the same? Also same idea, if it is useful in sport mode, why not use that in other modes given certain parameters(speed, grip etc). It almost feels like marketing selected a power...
We all know the range is *estimated*, as pointed out, so is the battery %. Just changing the temperature makes % go up/down. All my cars for the last 20 years estimate driving range on how much gas and recent driving habits, these are always estimates. As batteries age the amount of power...
I don't seem to see any change in the spoiler icon when driving in NORMAL mode. It does change in RANGE mode. If it is a good idea in range and sport modes why doesn't it move in NORMAL mode?
I have not had someone follow me to see how it is operating.
I had the same problem on mine, when updated to WMA5 the steering wheel icon never shows up. Yes I have unchecked/rechecked all applicable parameters. I sent this to Porsche and my dealer. No update from either yet.
By the way, does anyone understand their odd logic about ALV + ALK that it...
Reversing them for this video might be on purpose. Aerodynamically one direction they cause less drag, reverse that they give better brake cooling. On track brakes get very hot. I'm sure they probably changed the tires before these videos. But then again they could be backwards... ;-)
Has anyone noticed that after WMA5 update the "steering wheel" icon is no longer present when you use these modes? Mine worked and looked fine pre-update, now the assist functions don't work as well and the icon is gone (just shows the lane lines).
I love the idea of a more automated driving mode, especially for safety. I find the current version of Innodrive DANGEROUS at best. It only adjusts maybe 1" from newly painted lane markers, it definitely doesn't keep you in the center of the lane. I have had it slow very hard on the freeway...
No surprise we cannot agree ;-( Btw, notice that I always suggested a new mode, not getting rid of the current modes. So if you don't want the car to change from "range settings" to "sport settings" when you start to drive the car in a spirited manner you don't have to, don't select "auto"...
I would be super happy if you no longer had to install stickers on the back bumper.
Now how many stickers and where do they go? Just mailed application today.
I don't understand why these stickers are so huge. They should make them
license plate size like registration stickers. Put one on...
