No worries! I have the universal wall connect gen3 with the integrated adapter so you can charge either Tesla or non Tesla cars.
I was at 40%ish and charged to 80% overnight. Looks like that was 4hrs, so I’d say it’s 10% per hour but I’ve got it on a 60A fuse so it’s delivering the max output...
I finally got my car and love it so far!
The charging with the Tesla universal wall connector has been going well utilizing the timer/profiles of the car.
I had a question about some ups and downs of energy I see in the charging session. Is this normal?
Had one more question for you @nischalr, is this wireless charger holding your phone under hard acceleration etc? The magnet feels a bit less sticky compared to an Apple wireless charger.
This looks great and I just got the same one. It presses the screen a bit and creates a very very small gap between the screen and the panel but I would think that’s ok. How did you route the cable under the panels?
Ok awesome! Thanks for confirming. I don’t have my car yet but I did verify the 48amp output configuration in the Tesla one app and the web interface as well.
Hey everyone - I had the Tesla universal wall connect installed/hardwired today! Thank you for all the advice and guidance!
I see these figures in the system details in the Tesla one app. Do they look right for a 60amp circuit breaker installation for the maximum output of 48amps? I don’t have...
That makes sense thank you!
I don’t see the Porsche mobile connect recall open for the vin of the car so I’m assuming it will be ok to use the mobile charger for level 1 charging if needed when traveling?
Is the $600 reimbursement for the Porsche mobile connect that comes with some cars? I’ll be going with the Tesla wall connector hardwired like some of you recommended but was wondering if Porsche would reimburse me for the mobile charger that comes with the car?
It’s a Porsche cpo, you have a good point that there could be a difference but this is the Porsche certification and I’ve seen the paperwork as well. The laser jammer is mentioned there which was interesting.
Thank you for the insight. I’m just worried that if there’s a problem later on they might be like oh there’s a laser jammer installed and they messed up with the cables. I think I’m gonna pass and keep looking bummer but oh well
That’s kinda where my head was at that it feels like like this type of aftermarket equipment would invalidate the car from being cpo. I wonder if the fact that Porsche dealers do the laser installs allows them to consider them ok from that perspective?
I was really close to getting a CT 4S lease but couldn’t make the deal work as I wanted so I moved on. Been looking at CPOs for a straight purchase and I found a good spec somewhat close to me.
The spec is really close to what I’d like to get and I was ready to go for it, but then the dealer...
So what are people’s thoughts about an industrial level 14-50 socket and using the Porsche mobile charger connect that will come with the car as Level 2? Has anyone had issues with this type of a setup?
