Mustang Mach e GT (v Taycan RWD)

Not the most obvious comparison for someone in the high end marque EV market. What next? Hummer Vs Turbo?

    Activating 3D view

Same as above. You can set it to one on the 2 custom buttons on the steering wheel and dash. I set mine to the wheel. Go into the PCM and find the assign custom button and scroll down until you find Park Assist. I use it all the time.

    Tips for new Taycan owner??!

Use a knuckle to lock it and download the charging app. Set park assist surround view on the steering wheel custom button. Also don't forget to unlock the car before you try and remove a charging cable. I mean, who would be stoopid enough to be yanking on the cable for 20 minutes before trying...

Charge for free at EA or save the battery?

A Jaguar technian recently wrote on here that they hammered a Jag EV around a race track for 200k only charging with DC. Apparently the battery degradation was only 3%. I don't have a charger and supercharge every 2 weeks at Porsche which is 5 mins away.

Could not remove charger handle at remote station: GOOD TIP

I have had 3 wrestler incidents so far. In absence of the above information and after much cursing and yanking I found restarting and stopping the charge again seemed to reset and allow removal. Next time I will unlock the car... DOH!

First weekend impression of "my" Taycan

Texas land of the free! Over here not correctly showing the registration attracts a fine up to £1k and more worrying can invalidate the MOT ( annual road worthy test) which is required for insurance. So, insurance becomes invalid. But the main reason is big brother as we are surrounded by ANPR...

    UK charge stations question

Setting any EV chargers as destination will trigger the pre condition even if you don't drive there and go to Porsche or anywhere else for that matter. If it's a short ride it will make little difference. The pre heat / cool will raise the battery temperature quicker so set that an hour before...

    Taycan RWD suspension

I h I have a RWD with coils on 21 inch aero blades. For South East London / motorway it's a great ride. It's not particularly low. It has handled every speed bump fine and even goes straight over the double square ones as the car is so wide. I can't speak for air lift. But I would not pay more...

    CARMINE RED Taycan Club

Grats! She's a beauty. Carmine red is the best colour. You will find it's a head turner. I found after 500 miles I was getting more range. Also it's getting warmer now so that will make a massive difference from the 10*c the battery is in that last picture. Make sure you get the Porsche Charging...

The definitive discussion: adaptive air suspension worth it or not?

I have coils and 21 inch wheels and the drive is very comfortable pottering around South East London. That's with the sports chassis constantly selected as well. That said if you are 4 year leasing it's only £32 a month. I personally spent that on other things.

    Salary Sacrifice - Love Electric/Tusker

Not what you asked. But mine was with Octopus EV and the Portsmouth dealer. They were excellent.

Honest feedback required - does the Taycan work as a luxury car?

In the UK the government lowered the company car tax for EVs to 1% this year rising to 2% next year. Since one has to pay tax at their rate for company cars as they are perceived a benefit you pay 1% tax instead of 40%-60% (the dreaded taper is 60%). So leased through the company you get the...

You might want to upgrade the seats and also get the back massage. Seat heating definitely.

Honest feedback required - does the Taycan work as a luxury car?

Yes. I took advantage of the EV company car tax benefit (Octopus EVCars). Spec was £98.5k and the lease after tax half price. It’s a beautiful comfy ride. I find it effortless. The steering is not heavy if you spec power steering. The seats are a dream and you can up spec. It’s a joy to drive...
