    RFID Gate sticker location

Could it be slipped inside the front bumper cover? Depending on the RFID technology the range may be 1 meter or 100 so any attenuation from the plastic bumper cover may not be enough to affect operation.

Recall: High Voltage Battery May Short Circuit APB5 (2021-23) - December 13, 2023

Multiple charging events above the upper voltage limit pretty much has to be happening with DC fast charging. Since there's no mention of replacing the on-board 11/22KW charger used for AC charging, it's unlikely to be generating too high a voltage when charging. DC chargers on the other hand do...

Recall: High Voltage Battery May Short Circuit APB5 (2021-23) - December 13, 2023

No, 205 in the US are getting a new battery. There's probably another 300 to 400 in the rest of the world affected.

Recall: High Voltage Battery May Short Circuit APB5 (2021-23) - December 13, 2023

Reading through the recall, it looks like the only 23 models affected are base Taycans. I'd bet they're all small battery models constructed with batteries left over from the 2022 production run. Over charging and over voltage of a Lithium-Ion cell is a guaranteed way to have a bad day. I...

    150KW retrofit

Over time, Tesla is going to up the voltage on their chargers. They have to if they want to support charging on their new truck. Probably sometime next year all their new chargers will be 1000 volts. In a few years' time it will get better as they replace legacy equipment.

    150KW retrofit

Back when it looked like the Tesla charging network was going to be fully closed to other brands for the foreseeable future it was a decent decision to forego it. Even one year ago it was a gamble. A gamble that seems like it may have paid off, but we haven't really seen how Tesla is going to...

    150KW retrofit

Do you have a citation for that? The Taycan and PPE platforms are similar, but different. I'm not sure I see Porsche making those hardware changes for another few years at least.

    Dashcam

Fitcamx Dash Cam for Porsche – FITCAMX It's very nice. Took about an hour to install, if I were to install again it would take about 15 minutes.

VW Group (Porsche, Audi, Scout) Commits to NACS

Hope you have the 150 KW voltage booster. Otherwise you're going to be sorely disappointed charging at Bolt speeds on Tesla's 400 volt chargers.

    Taycan Key Fob Battery

Where do you store your key when the car is parked? If it's within 30 feet, the car and key communicate which can drain the key's battery. If you can't store the key more than 30 feet from the car you can store it in an enclosed metal box that blocks radio communication.

Hack to keep the passenger screen on without a passenger in the seat

We've configured the passenger display to show current media and are quite happy with that.

"It's got to be the best all-round car ever"- Taycan Cross Turismo 4S review

This is my go-to video when people ask about our CT. I don't even mind the reuse of video several times. It's great to show to someone whose first response is "I want a practical car not a race car."

    Seat Belt automatic tensioner

Ours checks the belts are snug every time we drive off. It seems to trigger about 10 seconds or a few meters of travel after putting it in drive. It might be speed related.

Which Taycan to Choose - 4/4S, Cross Turismo or not

Do you have a citation for that? My understanding is that all Cross Turismos, down to the base Cross Turismo 4 model have the large battery and can charge at 270 KW. Granted I've never been above 212 KW on mine, but I'm pretty sure it's 270. Now in Europe, the Sport Turismo can be purchased with...

[Well known problem] - great cell signal no data - requires dealer visit to resolve

This happened to my wife Lori just yesterday, she parked in a gully where there's poor voice service and terrible data service. She came back to the car and the PCM asked her to log into an account or continue as guest, but refused to let her log in. I walked her through rebooting the PCM with...

"Experts Tear Down Taycan; Discover Yet Another ‘Bowl Of Spaghetti’" - Autopian article

For what it does, the way Porsche did it is pretty good. Yes, they could possibly integrate some of those valves into the manifold itself saving the cost of a few of those elbows.

    Pedestrian protection fault

No, it sounds like they are following procedure. There was an error reported by or about the ECU, so that's where they started. Upon replacement they found a problem with the wiring determining it needed to be replaced. Likely the airbag bumper sensor was on that loom as well as the pedestrian...

    EV Collision Repair--WSJ: Costs/Wait Time

I'd love to see information from IIHS about relative repair costs of EVs by manufacturer and model. Tesla and Rivian are using manufacturing techniques that make repair more difficult. Not that a Porsche will ever be cheap to repair but they're using fairly standard manufacturing techniques.
