I've noticed that when it's wet out the hydraulic brakes occasionally don't feel so great. I suspect that they are getting water or other crud on them, and because the hydraulic brakes are used so infrequently on the Taycan, there's not much of a chance to heat up the brakes and burn that stuff off.
It could be. I know that the car read 56% SoC when I got back home, and I know the total distance traveled was 61.2 miles. But I didn't look before departing to see what my initial SoC was. It should've been 80%, but I have observed that the car sometimes over-charges by a point or two.
If I...
That wasn't my experience. It was 18F this morning, the battery was preheated to 62F when I departed, and it bounced between 60-64F the whole way. I had the cabin set to 68F in Eco and, if anything, I was too warm. My calculated range based on % charge lost is 255 miles.
If you're stopped for more than some amount of time (maybe 15 seconds?) you have to push the accelerator to move again. I don't consider it a negative, but some people might.
On the 4S, the 40/20/40 folding seats come with the third rear seat option. Without that option, it's a 40/60 split -- no passthru.
I don't know why the RWD would be any different.
Wireless CarPlay uses wifi, so I believe you need to have it enabled in the car before it will work. On my car wifi was disabled by default. If I remember correctly, you enable it by going to the devices page, then the "..." in the bottom corner, and there should be an option somewhere in there...
Yeah, the loaner is a pretty low spec, even for a dealer spec car. No sport chrono and only partial leather (so no premium package). If it hasn't got those, there's no way it has any of the performance options.
I think power steering plus (PSP) and rear axle steering (RAS) are the two most...
That's definitely not true. I have a loaner 4S right now, and the steering is very different from my 4S. Personally, I think my car's steering is quite significantly superior to the loaner's.
But it's true that the days of feeling every bump or imperfection on the road surface are gone. If...
It's common for used motorhomes to trade hands in the private market for six figures, sometimes seven. Both parties at the seller's bank/CU, buyer calls his bank to initiate the wire transfer, seller gets written confirmation from seller's bank that the wire has been received and deposited into...
I've never even needed DCFC at all. I've used it a few times, just to see what it's like and to make sure it works. But so far, 100% of my charging can be done using L2 chargers, either at home or at my destination.
I like the sport sound. It's silly and goofy. Definite little-kid energy (as...
Same observation here. As the weather's turned colder, the car's started going a point or two past my target.
Is it possible that this is due to the way the battery chemistry responds to temperature? That is, you take a cold battery and charge it to 80%. Then warm the battery up and perhaps it...
4S with PBP but 20" wheels. When I got into the car this morning, it was predicting 202 miles left at 81% SoC (~253 miles total). Siri says it's 37F outside, but the puddles were frozen, so it was probably colder. After completing my 58-mile mixed city/highway drive, the car was estimating 145...
Yep, you can daily-drive anything in winter as long as you have suitable tires. My mom drove me to and from school in western Mass all winter long in her 924. One time the snow was so high on the roads that we were shaving off the top couple of inches with the front bumper.
My RWD 550i was...
PSCBs are completely silent for me. Maybe heard some light noise from them in the first few hundred miles, but certainly nothing in a very long time. Haven't washed the wheels with anything special. The dust is so minimal that I typically just foam them with the rest of the car and then rinse.
