The idea that a RWD Taycan cannot easily pass just about anything at speed on a highway is easily disproved. That said, if the car ahead is driving 95 mph and you set out to pass them in your RWD Taycan, your biggest problem might not be lacking 600 HP.
Did not work for me although the app was available for the SuperCharger and I could select a charging station (5D in my case). The online instructions were to plug the Tesla tap into the adapter and then the adapter into the car. Did it but got a "unknown error" kinda message. Maybe others will...
It turns out that the Tesla App is quite smart. When I entered a supported non-Tesla such as Ioniq6 it does find our two local Supercharger installations. But if I delete the Hyundai and leave the Taycan, it only offers the lower-power versions of their public charging network.
Perhaps someone else could check ... on my Tesla App it finds regular Tesla charger and the few (in California) SuperChargers open to all EVs. None of the SuperCharger installations are showing up locally or anywhere in the U.S.
Perhaps this "soft launch" doesn't include Tesla's highspeed...
I just tried this at the same location where I was able to charge a Hyundai Ioniq6 when it came online with Tesla a few months ago. I'm using the same adapter that worked for the Hyundai.
No dice tonight. The Tesla app on my iPhone doesn't show any of the SuperCharger installations in my town...
No, that's not what I wrote ... but anyway I've removed the last part of my initial comment because I can't find the forum comment(s) that Active Ride was about the same as PDCC. Sorry about that.
Apparently C&D has gotten so much flack about covering EVs that they put the complete results of the 20-something EV comparisons online only. C&D's editor Tony Quiroga did comment: "Still, those of you who dismiss EVs do so at your own peril."
Like a lot of other reviews of the Taycan '25...
You can look at the following discussion (link below). I did get a guy with a 3-D printer to create the one pictured but last time I contacted him he didn't reply so maybe he's no longer doing this kind of work. Anyway, if you can find the printable file you should be able to find someone...
