Someone mentioned that the noticeablity of the downshift varies car by car. I often notice mine downshift when slowing down but I wouldn't describe it as 'hard' ... in fact I'm not sure what 'hard' means in this context.
I've never understood the knock on RWD performance off-the-line. My previous Porsche was a 2003 911 Cerrera and I don't think my '21 RWD with large battery is more than a decimal point or two slower off the line. It seems to have a similar power band while driving in town or passing on the...
Really!! I want one. Badly.
Hope the company follows through on shipments to the U.S. as neighborhood electric vehicle. I'm in a small coastal city where they would do quite well, I believe. Thanks for the clarification.
Our best local tire shop didn't agree with my Porsche dealer that an alignment was needed. I figure they know more about tires and alignment than a Porsche dealership.
After being an EA desert for forever Electrify America will finally provide service to the city of San Luis Obispo. Ten (10) stations at our local Costco are looking about ready-to-open. Costco is about 1/2 a mile from U.S. 101 (Los Osos Valley Rd. exit). HOWEVER, not open yet!! (Maybe next...
So as to the Taycan, there are no studies or prognostications comparing charging to 85% via, say, ElectrifyAmerica with charging to 85% at home using 220V charger over a period of years?
> 5% degradation difference: A study found that after 50,000 miles, a car charged exclusively with fast chargers retained 70% of its original capacity compared to 75% for slow-charged cars.
It would be interesting to know if the cars tested were charged to 100% or, if not, to what level and was...
Another current thread on this topic is possibly worth a look-see:

I was able to get this design printed and get a friend to attach the carbon film. It worked (see photos). Great design both functionally and aesthetically. Thanks so much. This is a big improvement of the original cup holder insert I was using. For one thing, the color ring remains visible with...
I've found Woodland Hills in California (near LA) to be a solid outfit to deal with. They do have "premium' pricing so I wouldn't go there looking for discounts or bargains but they are responsible, responsive, pleasant to deal with and competent in terms of the work they've done on the car...
Couldn't you put it on EBay with a reserve price? It will cost you some $ if it doesn't sell but I think you'll be able to guage interest out there and what folks are willing to pay.
Serious stuff. I've had this happen at a stop light and when backing out of my driveway. IF these are Adaptive Cruise Control-related I can imagine Porsche asking that it not be used.
To be fair to its U.S. customers I think Porsche should post retail prices for warranty extensions. I tried to get quotes from 3 or 4 dealers both in and out of California and most didn't come up with a quote despite a couple indicating they would do so.
0% at 8 years old? Sounds like I'm getting a second '22 Taycan in 2030!
Just extended my warranty to 10 years. I've read that the average cost of owning a newer car is about $10,000/year. (I assume that doesn't count interest.) I'd say in regard to the RWD models at least, it's a good deal...
Keep pouring water in a bucket and it will over flow. Two things might have helped: gasoline stations with the physical space could have added charging for EVs and, of course, Tesla could have become the Exxon/Shell/Mobil/Chevron of EVs … but choose not to.
If this recall involves changing out the brake fluid as well front brake hoses, would this push out any recommended brake service which I believe is recommended at the 60,000 mile mark?
