I'd also take the Lex estimates for the Audi's with a pinch of salt.. a colleague has been waiting 12 months (and counting) for a standard Q4 E-tron via Lex/Sal Sac.
I was in the same dilemma, having test driven both the GT and Taycan within days of each other, the Audi didn't generate half the...
Interesting to read the experiences of those going with SS via Cambridge. I'm in the same boat (going via Lex) and having only just placed the order in October, have been told straight up its going to be March 2024!
bit of a kick in the teeth but I appreciate the dose of reality.
Once the...
going via Lex too and ordered Oct 22 with Cambridge advising end of Feb 2024!
clearly added a longer wait for fleet orders it seems as when I called them direct to enquire (as a direct customer), they said Q4 23 for delivery.
I've done a similar work EV scheme via Lex with order placed a month ago. The provisional date they gave has been end of Feb 2024 through Cambridge.
at the time, I did all up a few dealers directly (including Cambridge) to get a view on wait times and they all said end of 2023. The fleet orders...
I’m in that camp ? having only placed an order last month, I’ve been estimated end of q1 2024 for the 4s. More likely to put off new orders than people expecting a car relatively soon.
So VED due from 2025.. will be infesting to see the details on how tue implement it.
BIK up too
“Currently, BIK for a pure EV is 2% (2022/23) and remains at that rate up to April 2025. The Chancellor’s announcement means that it will increase to 3% in 2025/26, to 4% in 2026/27, and 5% in 2027/28.”
there's quite an entertaining review which dropped on Carwow where they tried to find James Haskell a new EV.. needless to say, when the Taycan came out it was game over ?
an entertaining watch I thought
thanks for detailing this! as someone who is pretty much at the first line on this list, I'm in for a very long wait!
at what point did you have to lock in your spec? were you told the lock in date when you received allocation?
good to know, thanks.
I need to do something to get the idea that I've even ordered a Taycan out of my head.. ended up going down a rabbit hole of YouTube videos on EV home charging options!
I called up 3 dealers yesterday (Cambridge, Reading and Tonbridge) and they all said Q4 next year for delivery of a 4s.
clearly a massive pinch of salt taken on that, but when I suggested being told an 18month wait, one laughed and said it won't be that long!
I also asked if there was any...
I was looking at ordering a RWD in Ice Grey Metallic but after adding one too many options, the 4S made more sense!
in my haste to change my spec, I nearly forgot to add the high-gloss black window surrounds on the 4S (the RWD had black as standard).
got me looking to see if anyone has...
urgh, don't envy that commute! luckily most days my commute is from the bedroom to the home-office downstairs!
kids at an ages where they're out of car seats now but not big enough to complain about leg room!
another reason which pushed me away from an e-tron GT was the lack of rear seat USBs...
just did a quick reccy with Reading and Cambridge and both seem to suggest Q4 2023 for delivery for a 4S saloon.. better than the Q1 2024 Lex have provided (ironically through Cambridge too!).
though based on the experiences read here, I'd better not get my hopes up
that's the route I've gone so far. Looks like innodrive could be added retrospectively via function on Demand?
I'm not doing many motorway miles so not sure how much use I'd get out of innodrive apart from the 'show off to mates' use case! also saw there seems to be 3 months free trial with...
