my experience is that the button defaults to Siri when your Siri enabled iphone is plugged in but defaults to Porsche assistant when iPhone not plugged in. And yes, sometimes the porsche assistant activates when "Hey porsche" is not said for some reason.

I believe the plastic box you are referring to is the "standard" rear bin. The only way to remove (that I am aware of) is to spec the rear seat 2+1 option. There is a separate thread on that with I believe some pictures, etc.
