I had a Model 3 Performance. The Taycan is better in pretty much every automotive way. I prefer one pedal driving, but understand what Porsche was going for. I prefer the real dash of the Taycan, but the secondary screen is wasted space. Would be nice to have some controls for when Android Auto...
My biggest fear with this car is that it depreciates a ton more because no one will want a car this expensive out of warranty (I mean, I wouldn't). I'm hoping they prove to be solid long term, but I still hear of a bunch of issue that scare me.
Just an update. After two months of regular driving, regen just started working as I'd expect it too. I'll keep an eye on the squeal. I always try and keep the brakes clean and wash them. Might have just needed a few hard braking episodes.
I mostly drive in individual, but have that setup as low, sport, sound on, regen on. I tried Normal today and pretty much the same. I have a fairly short drive (15-20 minutes), but hitting the brakes doesn't move the green any further.
The squeal I have is usually worse at low speeds, but it's...
Appreciate the info. I guess my concern on the regen side is even if I apply the brakes light, moderate or hard, the regen gauge never goes beyond the tiniest portion of green. I can understand the first couple stops of a trip or at low speeds or high state of charge, but it just never seems to...
So I've searched and googled a bunch and it sounds like the car decides how much brakes vs regen to use. My car has about 14k km (9k miles), and is a 2020 CPO Turbo. I've been driving it for about 2 months and always have the regen on, but I never seem to get anything on the meter. It never goes...
I have found Taycan specific packages, but the stock Aero wheels are 20x9 with a 54mm offset. The ones I'm look at are the same, but with a 45 mm offset, so I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't fit. They are guaranteed to fit over the 6 piston calipers, but the shop isn't sure on the 10...
I can't find a lot of info on this, but it looks like even the Turbo S has a 20" Aero wheel package used for winter and all the 2020 pics I have look to confirm 10 piston brakes.
The wheels I was looking at have a 45mm offset and the Aero wheels are 54, so they should stick out 9mm more. Any...
What are the wheel specs (size/offsets?) I was told no 20" wheel would fit, which might just mean no 20" wheel they carry will fit.
Appreciate the help. This is turning into a bit of a pain.
It sounded odd to me as nothing I researched showed an upgrade to 10 piston calipers with the wheel choices, but it looks like it's a thing. Do you have the specs on the 20" wheels you have?
These were the wheels I was looking at:
https://www.opewheels.com/ff04 in a 20x9" and 20x10"
So I was looking for a winter tire package and found some 20" wheels in a Taycan specific fit. I was looking to order them, but the shop is telling me they won't work on the Taycan Turbo (non-S of course) because the standard 6 piston white calipers get upgraded to 10 piston calipers with the...
There isn't a lot of CPO options around me. As it sits, I'm already going to have to get something shipped so not a ton of choices.
I'm just not sure either of those two options I'd even notice, but I definitely notice the wheels every time I look at the car.
Thanks for the responses.
I'm looking at Taycan Turbos and the 2020's are coming into my budget. I want a turbo for the extra power and as a Tesla owner, I definitely want something faster than my 3 Performance (I know otherwise they are not comparable). I've done a ton of googling and reading, but not always from the...
